As part of its long term plan for a regional theocracy (Caliphate), it seems reasonable for Al Qaeda and its supporters to further weaken US military leadership. Its perfectly reasonable to think Al Qaeda and other nation states are running intelligence operations against US officials. Any intelligence officer knows that somewhere between 30%-60% of people cheat on their spouse. They also know everyone uses Gmail, and US officials using Gmail have been hacked. American media loves a scandal, so its easy to take out someone in leadership with a story about sex. So, if a foreign intelligence officer monitored the habits of 3 key officials, statistics says 1 or 2 of those officials will be cheating on their spouse. If you monitor enough officials email and activities, you will find a suitable patsy somewhere along the way. In this case it happens to be General Allen and Petraeus. It could have just as easily been the Joint Chiefs or Panetta. China, Israel, India and perhaps Russia have the skills required to hack Gmail and track government officials on a large scale. China and India need a lot of oil to keep growing. China would be more than happy to use oil from a new Middle East theocracy. Al Qaeda, through friends, can get to our Gmail.

Acquaint yourself with Occams Razor. Powerful men (and even not-so-powerful ones) have let the little head do the thinking for the big head since time immemorial. The simplest explanation is usually the best.
A) The folks that brought us Zero have Eric Holder at the Justice Department, taking care of the internal investigative end of political enemies and other projects. They have quite a bit of lattitude in what they can find out.
B) The military leadership, of course, would be brought under much better control, first off, by smart selection of top generals.
For starters, this would mean 1) those already willing (many are political by nature) or 2) those who have something that can be held over them.
A + B(1,2) = what we see going on.
Simple math, IMHO.
But we have not seen the results from tomorrow’s testimony yet. Sometimes people get a case of the morals and can backfire. I’m skeptical, but I have a great deal of hope.

Sorry, I must’ve confused your thread with some other thread about Petraeus, emails and Broadwell. You seem to have your own thing going. Ignore me.

No. Someone is collecting data on anyone who can be either friend or foe of O’s agenda. Could be Holder’s people, could be Soros’ people, doesn’t matter. When the time comes to take someone down, if one thing won’t do something else will have to do. Maybe he made a racist comment back in high school. Maybe he charged a meal at Hooters. Maybe he slept with someone or maybe he forgot to mention something on his income tax. Whatever it is, its in the file for when its needed.
If you are on the right side of things, you are teflon. Think of O’s own personal history that most of us have figured out but the press won’t touch. If you are expendable and in the way, anything is enough to take you down. With enough manufactured hysteria from the DNC press, no one will question it. Certainly not the spineless amoebas over at the RNC.

Add to that our boy Axelrod's willingness to burn up long time Cuban intelligence assets inside the USA to take out Republican candidates.
There's some serious stuff going on ~ and won't be long before some of the peripheral characters like Obama, Biden, their wives, and maybe even Nancy Pelosi will find themselves quite uncomfortably linked to spies, and maybe even saboteurs.
