Good news! I just heard on Newstalk 1130 AM in Milwaukee that Scott Walker would announce on Friday that WI would not implement the state exchange. I also heard that a group of GOP governors would do likewise and make a group announcement tomorrow!
I have an uneasy feeling that Christie-Kreme will let it pass in NJ.... I pray that I am wrong!
Looking forward to that list of states and hopefully it grows. I want to move to one of those states if my state doesn’t sign on.
Good. Obamugabe hates freedom.
Good for him! I love our governor.
Great news. If Walker is prez in 2016, it’s game over for odumobcare.
Last week voters in Missouri voted it down. In essence, outlawed such health care exchanges in Missouri. Of course the Feds can and will override it...
I'm confident Jan Brewer of Arizona will be part of this group too.
Go Gov. Walker!!!!
Go!!!! Gov Walker, et. al.!!!!
Anyone know about Mi and FL?
Woo Hoo! Walker ‘16
a group of GOP governors would do likewise and make a group announcement tomorrow!
-- is GREAT news and is what I had been hoping to hear.
Alabama’s governor, Robert Bentley, stated yesterday that he would not implement the exchange. He is a former physician. I was glad to hear this announcement yesterday and hope that more states will stand up to this horrendous legislation.
Christie already vetoed the first attempt at this, earlier this year. I too am worried that he might cave upon reconsideration .... but I wonder. We are recovering from a devastating hurricane here. Putting aside for a moment the evilness of Obamacare, the simple truth is that New Jersey just cannot AFFORD to build an exchange following Hurricane Sandy. I hope Christie realizes that.
How does the state not setting up an exchange help us? We still get “taxed” if we don’t buy insurance.
Good for Scott Walker! And for Rick Perry, who did the same.
On the other hand, MY governor, Bob McDonnell, who is bleating that, oh, well, the people have spoken and we need to be flexible on raising taxes, sent a letter to Obama (along with Bobby Jindal) asking Dear Leader if they could pweeze have an extension on the deadline to figure out what they will do.
Here is the latest tally of governors refusing an exchange:
Louisiana
Wisconsin
Texas
South Carolina
Virginia
Alabama
Mississippi
Missouri
Iowa
Nebraska
Indiana
I believe Nevada and Oklahoma
Rick Scott in FL indicating he will cave
No word from Kasich or Corbett
Not sure on Michigan
There are 30 GOP governors so we should end up w perhaps 50 percent of the country. And the small states w Dem governors are going to have a Hell of a mess. DE VT NH RI CT
You left out Gov. Brownback
