Provisional ballots are being reviewed this week, and the election will be certified tomorrow. we will not bow down to employee union thuggery. Please support conservative Dan Forest. This man has run a meticulous and hard fought campaign.

I am so there for Dan Forest! This attack is just thuggery plain and simple, we don’t need her kind in NC right now.

The dems never stop counting until they win. If Mitt had won the lawyers would be crawling all over the battleground states. The GOP just goes home and complains.

NC Governor-elect Pat McCrory (R) won the election with almost 55 percent / 500+k votes to incumbent Lieutenant Governor Walter H. Dalton (D). It is apparent from this story that the NC lieutenant governor race is a separate race from the governor’s race, a logic that I think dates back to creating weak governorships after the Civil War Reconstruction. What is strange (from this distance) is why so many voters split their ballots or else failed to vote in the lower-bracket LG race. Puzzling.

He currently has a lead of over 11,000 votes, so I think he will probably pull this out. Dan Forest is the son of former US Representative Sue Myrick. NC just elected our first Republican governor since 1993 and the Republicans added to the majority they achieved in 2010. That was the first time the Republicans took control of both houses of the legislature since the 1880s. Although our judicial elections are "nonpartisan", we succeeded in keeping the grandson of Senator Sam Ervin of Watergate fame from unseating an excellent conservative member of the NC Supreme Court. Most important, the voters turned NC back to its proper color - red!
We are a nonunion state, but, as a 30 year NC state employee, I belong to the State Employees' Association (SEANC). I have been offended by the many emails that we have received pushing Linda Coleman, whose only qualification for the job of Lt. Governor appears to be that she is a former teacher and a member of SEANC, and telling us how "extreme" Dan Forest's views were. I heard a radio report earlier today which said that Coleman is "concerned" that provisional ballots from many "eligible" NC voters may not be counted, although that process is underway right now.

It is the job of the SBOE to check and count provisionals. Linda Coleman’s claims are outrageous.

This doesn't happen and neither does losing U.S. Senate seats if voters are reminded at each and every campaign speech to VOTE STRAIGHT TICKET. But the idiots passing as informed electorate in this state (NC) still think it is OK to just vote for President, Governor, and County Commissioners and their duty is done. Frickin’ idiots. And they are MY neighbors!!!!

Of course she does... and it’s over “provisional” ballots that were cast because the voter couldn’t be found on the roll. Ummmmm with all the fraud going on in this last election, what the heck?

If he wins, he will be the only GOP win on a recount this election.

Coleman, who for those of you who don't know, is black. She will have to manufacture a few more votes in order for there to be an automatic recount, and even if she does, 10,000 votes is a lot to make up. NC state government has been dominated by Democrats, but there has never been a case since I became a voter back in 1976 where boxes of uncounted votes that happen to favor the Democratic candidate have been found. Her argument is obviously specious and appears desperate.
As a black Democratic candidate backed by the state employees' association, she did not expect to lose, but NC is just fed up with the corruption displayed by the Democrats who have held the top offices in the state. Why do you think the incumbent governor chose not to run for reelection? Even though she was not as bad as her predecessor, she knew she stood almost no chance of winning.
Although I have lived in NC all my life and remember the Jim Crow laws, separate water fountains and waiting rooms, and desegregation, I have never felt any prejudice toward blacks. In fact, some of the people I most love and admire are black. Since the election, however, I look at every black person I see and wonder how they could vote for such a dishonest, incompetent person for POTUS just because of the color of his skin! I think that is the thing for which I most resent Obama. In four short (actually LONG) years, he has done lasting damage to race relations in the United States. I know that one day he will receive his just reward, but that is small comfort to me right now!

Thanks for the update. I'm sure the lawyers and crocodile tears are soon to follow. After all, this state is nothing but a bunch of racists since they voted for a Republican governor and legislature. /sarc

Thank you for the update... wanna bet she calls for a recount? Wouldn’t count on the dems to do the honorable thing, but who knows maybe pigs can fly afterall.
