Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.) confirmed Thursday that she will seek the chairmanship of the Senate Budget Committee next year but told The Hill that she cannot commit to doing a budget.
This opens up the possibility that Senate Democrats will avoiding passing a budget resolution for the fourth year in a row.
The last time the Senate passed a standalone budget resolution was in 2009.
This past year, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) said a budget was not necessary because the top-line spending number for appropriations was set in the August 2011 debt-ceiling deal.
Murray said that an agreement to avoid the "fiscal cliff," the looming $600 billion in tax increases and spending cuts set to strike in January, could preclude having to pass a Senate budget next year.

They violate the Constitution every time they refuse to do their job.
Dems hate budgets now, they rather like having blank checks.

Duh. If there’s not budget, there’s accounting for expenditures. If there’s no accounting, more $$$$ can be put into their pockets and into the pockets of our enemies (yes, redundant).

Patty once claimed Osama Bin Lauden’s popularity was due to his construction of day care centers for the Arabs.

There will not be a budget coming out of the Senate until the GOP gets a majority. Maybe in 2014.

Don’t pass a budget in the House either.
History is filled with examples of armies not getting paid.

The democrats do not want to pass a budget because they have what they want...and have had for 3+ years. The stimulus was added to the 2009 budget. Since they have not passed another budget, that is what stands...the 2009 budget and the stimulus. That is a lot of money. We need to contact our senators and demand they pass a budget, or stop collecting taxes. They cannot have it both ways. We demand a sane, balanced budget. This IS our country, not theirs. It is time we spoke and let them know.

She's safe. She knows Boo Hoo Boehner has no balls and will not adjourn the House of Representatives until the Senate submits a budget for reconciliation (which is what ought to be done). No problem. Once again, the man (a term used loosely in this instance) who heads the chamber that controls the money, chooses to open the old Vaseline jar, bend over, and giggle in anticipation of a visit from Obama Claus.
