[L]et's be honest. We had little reason to believe that Romney was truly dedicated to improving our social and cultural conditions -- indeed, that all-important thing called the human condition -- because he talked endlessly about his business experience. Most Americans don't like their bosses and have trouble with landlords and creditors. Talking about one's business experience is not usually a good way to win them over.
On election day, it became clear to me that the Republican Party had been led into Purgatory by the Laodicean wing. In case you aren't familiar with Revelation 3:14-17, here is what God says in that text:
I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot.
So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked[.]
Here's the simple version: stand for something important, damn it. Articulate human values. Be about something more than numbers. Be hot. Be cold. Be a flavor. Don't be Mitt Romney: lukewarm, milquetoast, centrist. The Laodiceans were warned -- God will spew thee out of His mouth. So it came to pass.

As an Evangelical values voter, I felt like I was the dirty family secret asked to come into the "big tent" through the side flap. In the end, I voted for Romney, but many people like me [...] decided to stay home and spend the day praying to God for strength. At least God, unlike the Republicans, will never forget us or be ashamed of us.

I like the way you think.
Given some of the shrieking and tantruming taking place in this very thread, thus far: you might just have something, there. ;)
you are a complete and total idiot
It isn’t that the majority “like” the economy the way it is,
it’s just that so many of them are not being affected by it because of the “safety net”.
bttt
Ptui.
If you stayed home for this election when you had the chance to remove true evil, and prayed to God for strength as this article alleges, I spew you out of my mouth.
For every election of my lifetime, there has never been a perfect candidate. Never.
But when the choice is between a man who at least has led a moral life, and a man who lies, cheats and hates America, the choice is an easy one to make.
If you sat out this election, of all elections, go away. You will never be satisfied.
In the meantime, we have to live with the folly your foolishness has now guaranteed.
I ask you, sir, who made you bert’s judge? Upon what grounds are you so righteous? All of us still reading this thread are pro life, or we would have moved onto the next thread by now. How is it you can spew the worst of your venom against your pro life brothers and sisters and somehow claim yourself above all of us?
Shame on you. When the next two pro death justices get appointed to the Supreme Court in the next three years or so, you ask yourself then what the difference was between Obama and Romney. Ask yourself, then, what the true meaning of Lukewarm is, as the next century of unborn are condemned to death.
AMEN PING
Your vote was a vote to refuse to remove clear evil. And guaranteed government funding for the killing of another 4.5 million babies over Zippy’s second term by helping to re-elect him.
That’s right, you will actually be paying for these murders through your taxes.
Good job. Try explaining that to God when you see Him.
I think language goes over the top sometimes. This election was a real conundrum.
I am a “life” voter who did not choose until about the final 2 weeks to vote for Romney.
The reason I did so was because of “life”.
When Benghazi broke I was amazed by the attempts to sell it as the result of a silly video trailer. Then it got much more sinister.
Obama was actually decreeing that our Seals, ever faithful to not leave anyone behind, would be left to die.
He pronounced a death sentence on them. As a career military chaplain, I could not help the bitterness I felt at discovering those brave souls went to their deaths putting a laser on a target, because they just knew that their people would have their backs, that they would be there for them.
But, Obama performed a post-birth abortion on them. He directly decreed death to the living.
That was so heinous, and I was so certain that Romney would never have made that decision — that no other politician would have made that decision — that I had to recognize this was clearly a distinction in the positions held on “life” by the 2 men.
Obama’s death panels says the same thing...post-birth abortion.
His keeping troops in an Afghanistan he is leaving in a few months — only to see many of them needlessly die — says the same thing...post-birth abortion.
His sending guns into Mexico to kill innocent Mexicans says post-birth abortion.
The deaths of our border agents in that same operation says post-birth abortion.
I believe Obama kills in ways I could not conceive Romney of doing. I am convinced he enjoys post-birth abortion.
So, on the basis of that distinction, I put my X next to Romney’s name. Other than that, he would not have gotten my vote.
Are you advocating for not paying taxes?
Nope. Care to try again...?
There's nothing duller than spittled, wildly-misdirected outrage, frankly.
you will get what you deserve from this administration - anyone that voted for the punk or Goode has become a direct threat to my childrens future.
I was in ministry for a number of years..since retired from it, and I always used to laugh at the folks who would see black and white principle when the Bible is full of instances where God used someone (in this election a mormon)despite their shortcomings
If it were my forum, you'd be gone.
Instead - sit contentedly as your principles drive up fuel costs, waste more lives abroad and destroy this once great Nation..........hopefully, you are spared the agony of explaining to your children that they will not have the same opportunities due to the financial binds of government slavery
You couldn't be more correct. Even so called conservative and right leaning moderates have no clue how bad it is going to be.
This is already happening and when the clueless complain I tell them what the voted or stayed home for. Since it is now open enrollment time at many employers the clueless are getting a taste of what is to come. I specifically told a few obamites that you are now subject to the Special Needs Children Tax via the marxist health care law limit of $2500 on their Flexible Spending account. One clueless serf actually said "I didn't think they passed that?!". I wasn't sure if he was talking about FSA or Obamacare in general.
We also have so much less choice regarding health care plans with higher premiums now-What a coinsidence!
Comprehend much of what you read? The point has nothing to do with paying taxes, but what your vote guaranteed those taxes will pay for.
Thats right, you will actually be paying for these murders through your taxes.
EXACTLY - HIS PRINCIPLED POSITION COST MORE LIVES - PRAY ABOUT THAT
SO WHO'S THE TOOL OF SATAN?
You really shouldn't disparage the majority of your posts that way.
You really shouldn't disparage the majority of your posts that way.
*yawwwwwwwwwwnnnnnnnnn*
Next customer, please...?
“Thats right, you will actually be paying for these murders through your taxes.”
Let’s not forget the “death panels”.
To be consistently pro-life, we should value the sanctity of life at all stages. The sick and elderly have the same right to life as the unborn.
The increased mortality rate under “Obamacare” won’t be confined to the unborn.
Life-threatening delays in care and denial of care will affect everybody, regardless of age.
You voted in Texas. An easy state for Romney.
Thus, I have no problem with your third party vote.
But I don’t think you are in a position to criticize those who had to vote in the swing states. When they stand before God, they can rightfuly explain that Goode had NO CHANCE of winning (if he was even on the ballot), meaning their choice was between the guy who was such an extremist that he voted to have babies killed that survived abortions, or the guy who has flip-flopped on the issue.
