Two public school teachers are facing investigations for posting messages that some perceived as critical of President Obama on social networking sites.
In Rock Hill, SC, a middle school teacher was placed on leave after she posted a message on her personal Facebook page about President Obama and food stamps.
“Congrats Obama,” she allegedly wrote. “As one of my students sang down the hallway, ‘We get to keep our food stamps’ … which I pay for because they can’t budget their money … and really, neither can you.”
A school spokesperson said they had received several calls complaining about the eighth grade math teacher at Rawlinson Road Middle School. The teacher has apologized.
A school official told Fox News that the complaints originated from pro-Obama supporters outside the school.
“People outside the school system that saw her posting and some of them said they were offended by it,” spokesperson Elaine Baker said. “She used poor judgment according to our social media policy. Teachers are kept to higher standards.”
Baker said teachers and school employees should “watch what they post on Facebook to be careful.”

Did their friends' friends turn them in? Rather a stretch to have people from outside the school complaining about Facebook posts. Were they searching for anti-O opinions?
In 2008, the popular movie that seemed to be a documentary of the presidential race was “The Manchurian Candidate” (or was it “Idiocracy”?)
Now, in 2012, the movie/documentary is “Red Dawn”.

It is time to comb the Internet social networks for government toadies ( oops! ‘”teachers”) who posted anti-Romney opinions.
So they were offended. I am offended that idiots re-elected that asswad Obama. The main thing, was her statement factual? Was it on her on page and not done with a school computer? Then BS. If the school takes action sue the rotten basturds..........

This kind of crap has been going on ever since the obama administration happened, 4 years ago. Same thing they do in other dictate countries. The camel’s nose under the tent.
Well. It seems that we’ve arrived at tyranny. I’m a teacher at a school in Alaska, and I have to tell you that a cold chill went down my spine, which is, of course, the reason that these two teachers have been targeted. I wonder what will happen when someone figures out my real name behind this pseudonym?
I’m also on Facebook, and a fairly large number of teachers are my friends. The political barrage was intense this election cycle, and was especially vicious from the left. I taught history for a while, and it doesn’t take much reading to see that leftists reflexively stifle speech wherever they gain control. Depending on the culture, stifling speech can evolve into outright genocide, but maybe that won’t happen here, and we’ll just have genteel authoritarianism.
As many people here have posted, all those ugly, bigoted, and violent statements against Romney, Republicans, whites, Christians, and conservatives will not cause a ripple in the world of education.
We’re in for quite a ride, my friends. God help us.
we have elected Obama as our “Golden Calf”. The heathens will worship until there is judgement.
Time to review the ‘social media’ messages and websites of every teacher in that district. Make sure every one of them is held to the same standard.
Teachers held to higher standards than their damned unions.
I can’t for the life of me can understand why any capable and/or conservative person would become a public school teacher. There is no reward whatsoever.
Makes you wonder if the schools have figured out a way to weed out conservative thinking teachers from their ranks. The schools sure do teach a liberal agenda, makes you wonder how exactly do they manage to do that?
