Jindal slams Romney for 'gifts' comment about minorities, young voters

Republican Gov. Bobby Jindal of Louisiana fiercely shot back at Mitt Romney’s claim Wednesday that President Barack Obama outmatched the 2012 Republican presidential nominee by offering "gifts" to African-Americans, Hispanics and young voters.

“I absolutely reject that notion,” Jindal, who was a surrogate for Romney’s campaign, said at the Republican Governors Association conference in Las Vegas. “I think that's absolutely wrong.”

“I don't think that represents where we are as a party and where we're going as a party,” he continued. “That has got to be one of the most fundamental takeaways from this election.”

Romney made the comments on a call with top donors Wednesday afternoon, various news outlets have reported. The former Massachusetts governor also made similar arguments on a separate call earlier in the morning, CNN confirmed.

"What the president, president's campaign did was focus on certain members of his base coalition, give them extraordinary financial gifts from the government, and then work very aggressively to turn them out to vote," Romney said in the afternoon call, according to audio aired on ABC News.

Romney, who lost to Obama by 126 electoral votes, said the president courted voters by offering policies - some of them this election year - that appealed to key constituencies.

Are you joking?

I know you are an after-birther/troll but really that’s just over the top if you are serious.

The reason politicians do what they do is like generals trying to learn from the last war. They don’t understand that if they fight the next one like they think they should have fought the last one they will lose it, too. Axel rod didn’t suffer from this limitation. He knew it would come down to Ohio, Va, Fla. he also knew about how much fraud would be needed in just which places and he knew just how to keep enough GOP votes out to overwhelm his fraud. Hence we had long lines with LOWER numbers here in parts of Va. “Computer problems”. Yeah. Axel rod was also unencumbered by integrity so it was all really very simple. Like all men who are great in their own minds he shared his “vision” with a few folks (say Nate Silver, Daily Kos) and the rest, they say, is history. Out of Daley’s Chicago where even Rats acknowledge fraud put JFK in the White House we get Axelrod, who has taken it to “the next level”.

For the GOP, they're still trying to figure out how they won the Civil War. Don't tell them there have been others.

What was needed was a General Grant in this one. Throw more people at it and more and more and more. Then you win.

Romney tried to play it with drones and lost.

Gov. Romney happens to be right on this one. There were other reasons of course, but this was a big part of it.

Much as I disagree with Gov. Romney on a multitude of issues, he ran a very competent campaign. He’s also being relatively honest about where his campaign fell short. You can’t win against Santa.

Many great men have written similar quotes

This one belongs to Ben Franklin :

“When the people find they can vote themselves money,
that will herald the end of the republic.”

I told you guys Jindal has been a disappointment to many conservatives here in Louisiana. He has developed the stench of a self-aggrandizing RINO.

I campaigned for him in 2003 and in 2007. I did not in 2011.

Romney lacked “fire in the belly.” I seriously doubt that he wanted to be President.

Tone of voice, pretty-boy smile, body language, choice of softball words, lack of follow-through on key issues such as the Benghazi Murders, etc., all indicated to me that he had better things to do with HIS precious time than to spend it running for President of the United States of America.

It is time for us to shun the typical RINO/GOP-Elite Campaigns Method of LOSE AT ALL COSTS.

“Whisper softly and then sit down” should be the motto of the Dole-McCain-Romney ‘Choose to lose’ Campaigns.

I voted for Newt in the primaries and I know if he had been the nominee he wouldn’t have been so passive towards personal attacks made on him. I don’t know if he could have won the presidency considering our current social situation, but at least Newt would have forced the president to answer for Benghazi, Fast and Furious, and the economy in a far more vigorous manner than in this past election with Mitt Romney. Conservatives didn’t work hard enough to get Newt or Rick the nomination. Instead of blaming the RINO establishment for nominating Romney the finger of blame should be pointed primarily at us.

Good point.

_________

My early concern about the prospects of beating Obama was that early in the Primary the GOP-Elite began to endorse the Father of Socialist, (partial State Control), Romney’care’ to be their opponent to the Father of Communist, (communal, total State Control), Obama’care.’

As long as the GOP-Elite have the habit of trying to choose winners and losers, we will continue to see Republican Candidates that are as out of touch with the voters as are our elected Federal politicians.

For example, 60 % of American voters want Obama’care’ abolished, FOREVER!

What does Sobber of the House Boehner and Senate Minority Leader Son-of-a-Mitch McConnell say to us?

Repeal and REPLACE! NOBODY IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WANTS TO ‘REPLACE’ Communist Obama’care!’

Let’s see. You want to be a bigger RINO than Romney? I’ll remember that in 2016.

This makes three times in three days that Jindal has trashed Conservative principles.

And where does he do this?

At the Hard Left website, “Politico.”

Christie, Jindal, Terry Branstad, Rubio...

These guys are GOADING Conservatives to leave the party.

They are actually helping the MSM achieve their political dream, which is the destruction of the GOP as a political force.

If president Reagan was for smaller government why did he allow government spending to TRIPLE during his 8 years?
