If youre in Florida and planning to join in on the Papa Johns buycott scheduled for this Friday, you might want to save some room for dessert and hit Dennys afterward. A West Palm Beach restaurant owner is the latest target of a boycott campaign after floating the idea of adding a 5 percent Obamacare surcharge to customer checks starting in 2014.
Franchisor John Metz told the Huffington Post that “although it may sound terrible that I’m doing this, it’s the only alternative. I’ve got to pass the cost on to the consumer.” In August, Papa John’s CEO John Schnatter was among the first to come under fire for suggesting that implementing Obamacare would entail costs that would have to be passed on to customers.

“Triarc Companies (Arbys, T.J. Cinnamons, Pasta Connections) donated $112K, 96% went to Democrats”
That alone warrants its own thread. People are pissed and would react to that news. Give’m a chick-fil-a in reverse.
Its the law of the land. It will not be reppealed anytime soon. Someone is going to pay, and its going to be most of us with the exception of those way, way at the top. Anyway, if things continue as they are, most of us will not be able to be a patron or supporter of these business since we are not going to have that much spending cash in our pocket due to more taxes, fines, penalties, lack of jobs, low paying jobs, and I can go on and on.
“A combo meal at Arbys with a dessert side is close to $9.
No more for me.”
Right before the election McDonald’s had its first bad earnings; the people that had fallen out of the middle class could no longer afford it.
Scary...
If we support the companies that raise the price to pay for obamacare, were doing exactly what the government wants us to do. We will be paying for someone elses insurance.Nonsense. Every business is going to have to pay those costs somehow. We're supporting those that make it known to the public that the reason they are paying more is because of Obamacare.
Confiscated from an unknown Freeeper, who I apologize to for not remembering.
Does someone want to start a thread with this information and ping me so I can ping others?
