A week after losing the presidential election to President Obama, Mitt Romney blamed his overwhelming electoral loss on what he said were big gifts that the president had bestowed on loyal Democratic constituencies including young voters, African-Americans and Hispanics.
In a conference call on Wednesday afternoon with his national finance committee, Mr. Romney said that the president had followed the old playbook of wooing specific interest groups especially the African-American community, the Hispanic community and young people, Mr. Romney explained with targeted gifts and initiatives.
In each case they were very generous in what they gave to those groups, Mr. Romney said.
With regards to the young people, for instance, a forgiveness of college loan interest, was a big gift, he said. Free contraceptives were very big with young college-aged women. And then, finally, Obamacare also made a difference for them, because as you know, anybody now 26 years of age and younger was now going to be part of their parents plan, and that was a big gift to young people. They turned out in large numbers, a larger share in this election even than in 2008.
The presidents health care plan, he added, was also a useful tool in mobilizing African American and Hispanic voters. Though Mr. Romney won the white vote with 59 percent, according to exit polls, minorities coalesced around the president in overwhelming numbers 93 percent of blacks and 71 percent of Hispanics voted to re-elect Mr. Obama.
You can imagine for somebody making $25,000 or $30,000 or $35,000 a year, being told youre now going to get free health care, particularly if you dont have it, getting free health care worth, what, $10,000 per family,

That’s right. 0 and the dems give away “free” things with our money.
We suckers work hard to pay taxes that the government uses to give gifts to people who vote democrat.
It will take as long as it takes for working Americans of all income levels to figure out that the “gifts” with which Obama and the Democrats buy their adoring voting base are not theirs to give. They wrest them from the homes, families and hard work of the American taxpayer.
Until those taxpayers refuse to support every illegal that strolls across our border, every deadbeat who refuses to work, every spoiled, clueless, Liberally educated unproductive and ethicly challenged youngster who demands a “living wage” from people who have children to support themselves and who work long hours to do so and union members who demand a cushy retirement from people who don’t dare dream of such.....when the taxpayer finally says “enough” and business owners pull capital from overtaxed, job creating enterprises.....then and only then may we begin to emerge from this Socialist nightmare. Along the way, half a nation might just learn where their “freebies” really come from.
“Romney Blames Loss on Obamas Gifts to Minorities and Young Voters’
I blame Romney’s loss on rat voter fraud. Romney supposedly had thousands of lawyers lined up to challenge election results. Why didn’t he use them? Hell, Romney should have called for patriots to take to the streets and challenge “the man” and shut down the system. Fascists in the rat party would’ve understood that.
I will refer the right honorable gentlemen to the my post about Aztlan in a different threat.

That being said, Romney still should have won if he could have garnered the sufficient amount of enthusiasm and if he had not acted like an effete country-club republican for most of the campaign.
I guess its my circle, but I did not know one woman (even the liberals) who cared diddly squat about free birth control or abortion.
obama was to win, and Romney was not the guy to beat him.
typo threat = thread....thousand pardons.
That doesn't explain why 10 million voters didn't show up, most of them apparently dropping from Obama's column. Romney had about 10 million people who refused to vote for Obama this time also refuse to vote for him. That can't be explained by Obama's handouts, only by a dislike of either Romney and/or Republicans that equalled their dislike of Obama and/or Democrats.

WRONG!
Note to Romney: Here are a small sampling of the REAL reasons that you lost:
Never questioned Obama’s place of birth;
Never questioned Obama’s reasons for sealing his personal documents and school records;
Never Campaigned from the end of the Primary until people started early voting;
Never allowed The Father of the Tea Party to be involved in your Campaign;
You listened to your sorry Harvard top campaign advisors;
Ignored Moderator Bob Scheiffer when he delivered the election to you on a silver platter with his question to you about Benghazi as the first question in the third debate;
You, as the Father of Socialist Romney’care’ ran against the Father of Communist Obama’care.’
You NEVER ONCE went for the coup de gra’ce;
Every time that you got ahead, you relaxed and changed course;
You kept your advisors that had done a perfect job of designing a campaign to lose at all costs.
You sir, are just another loser RINO.
DUH! I’m surprised that you received as many votes as you did.
BTW, the only good thing that came out of your Primary and General Campaigns was HOW NOT TO RUN A CAMPAIGN!
I blame the loss on Romney defeating each of his primary opponents by outspending them in key markets and then running up against someone with more cash than he has, and not having a Plan B (which, for his primary opponents, was their Plan A).
Another reason they lost is because he didn’t point out that
Babies are a blessing not a curse. The HATERS on the left
are very intolerate to the human life that is living in the uterus. Can’t wait to kill them.
Then they promised rubbers to the women.
I guess a lot of blacks look at babies as a curse and want to have free rubbers because 94% of them voted for Obama.
He’s partly right and I understand not wanting to touch the fraud, don’t want the party to be called racist or sore losers. I, on the other hand, don’t care what I am called.

I don’t know if you were watching CBS on August 27, 2012, after Romney had won the nomination, and was asked about the party’s pro-life platform, and abortion.
PELLEY: Well, the platform as written at this convention for the Republicans does not allow for exceptions on abortion with regard to the health of the mother or rape or incest. Is that where you are?
ROMNEY: No. My position has been clear throughout this campaign. Im in favor of abortion being legal in the case of rape and incest, and the health and life of the mother.
:irony:
Why is he running to the NYT with this ? He and his staff screwed up and in doing so also screwed US
Expecting voters to know whats going on and their reliance on MSM is just part of why our great loss. While there are examples of fraud which may close up the gap, the gap is too big to blame the loss on fraud ...Expecting GOP Es to address media bias or Romney to call Obama a congenital liar or even point out that the fact and figures released by the white house were allways questionable is another . But the fault lies really in the messaging the Republican campaign gave. ..
Romney ran a Johnny One Note Campaign. Used a poison dart blow gun when he should have used a cannon loaded with grape shot because he had pleanty of stuff he could fill that cannon barrel with..
They failed to hammer away on what will happen when Obama gets returned; The Obama 2013/14 Tax Increases. The impact of Obamas energy policies, and the related price..(a socialist construct never branded as such) was a bread and butter issue which reached into every demographics pocketbook...The impact of Supreme Court Appointments.. 18,000 new IRS agents and on and on. Including rampant corruption . Some were very briefly touched most werent and Benghazi was left to languish. Then there is Obamas personal extravagance and behavior refusing to visit Nashville after its disaster showing up at New Orleans after Mitt visited it.
Instead we got a sales pitch on executive ability but not the reason why one should toss the old model and buy his. That print and tv pitch , 20 million new jobs, was given a discrarded dose of skepticism .
In addition Rove who I understand was handling the Charter PAC senate campaign played games. His material never warned voters that IF OBAMA GETS RE-ELECTED AND SENATE CONTROL REMAINED . .. OBAMACARE AND ALL THE TAX INCREASES THAT GO WITH IT WILL NEVER GET REPEALED Let alone tie into or cover the formentioned grape shot which would have perhaps changed that body. I don’t recall any of that material directed toward that fact.
Finally they didnt believe the polls which turned out were dead on. Even going as far as setting up focus groups which could have looked into whats going on . Even to the point of going out to local eateries and bars and eavesdrop into conversations and pick up on topics being discussed.(chat rooms twitter too contrived)
Our local small population (-8000) rural blue county GOP had at the outset good and growing attendence at their meetings 50 plus. At the meeting the Thursday before the election only about a dozen people showed up and I knew we were in trouble .
Nuts...This loss is inexcuseable, while I trully don’t believe Mitt Romney would never continence losing, I’m begining to wonder if many GOPE’s didn’t want to see O care go ..
So, do you celebrate Obama getting another 4 years?
One thing I don’t think he explained well is that he wasn’t trying to make birth control illegal, he just believed that other people should not have to pay for it. I have said that to libs and then some of them get it.
Romney made the mistake of addressing the electorate as adults who cherish liberty.
Obama had it right.. talk down to them like little needy children and dangle treats in front of them as a reward for good (voting) behavior.
Why would I?
