Obama administrations dirty hands
The evidence that Gen. David H. Petraeus, formerly the commander of U.S. troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, the author of the current Army field manual, Princeton Ph.D. and, until last week, the director of the Central Intelligence Agency, was forced to resign from the CIA to silence him is far stronger than is the version of events that the Obama administration has given us.
The government would have us believe that because the FBI confronted Gen. Petraeus with his emails showing a pattern of inappropriate personal private behavior, he voluntarily departed his job as the countrys chief spy to avoid embarrassment. The government would also have us believe that the existence of the generals relationship with Paula Broadwell, an unknown military scholar who wrote a book about him last year, was recently and inadvertently discovered by the FBI while it was conducting an investigation into an alleged threat made by Mrs. Broadwell to another woman. The government would as well have us believe that the president learned of all this at 5 p.m. on Election Day.
We now know that the existence of a personal relationship between Mrs. Broadwell and Gen. Petraeus had been suspected and whispered about by his senior-level colleagues and by his personal staff in the military, who worried that it might become publicly known, since before the time that he came to run the CIA.
We also know that when he was nominated to run the CIA, that nomination was preceded by a two-month FBI-conducted background check that likely would have revealed the existence of his relationship with Mrs. Broadwell. The FBI agents conducting that background check surely would have seen his visitor logs while he commanded our troops...

There would have to be more than “mere” (can’t believe I even have to say that) adultery, as military policy is not to prefer charges on simple adultery specs. But if there were compromise of classified information, misuse/abuse of government communications, etc., false official statement, obstruction of justice, etc., it’s certainly possible.
This will end up being another House investigation, since it’s controlled by the Republicans. There will be no legal consequences to ignoring the committee for the administration, so it will end up looking roughly like Fast and Furious.
The democrat Senate will not agree to a special prosecutor.
...nomination was preceded by a two-month FBI-conducted background check...
Think of J. Edgar Hoover and his private files and how they were a resource for various administrations: Joseph Kennedy and his Nazi sympathies, MLK and his sexual indiscretions, JFK and his dalliances with known Soviet spies. This list is endless and fascinating.
The vetting of candidates for high positions by the FBI is thorough and intense. To suggest that the administration knew nothing of this is absurd. Unfortunately, as the last election has proven, half the electorate is criminally stupid.
You are corrct. There are many layers to this, and while history may or may not repeat itself, it certainly rhymes...
I was one who thusly opined, but now there’s more to suggest this didn’t happen after he retired but while he was still at NATO or CENTCOM (or elsewhere).
Being the CIA chief I’m sure he knows alot about those in DC so during his congressional testimony I’d like to Gen Petraeus do one more thing for this country; reveal all that he knows about the obozo, how he actually got to the WH and out the rest of the communists in the administration and congress.
I can’t see Petraeus doing anything to harm his pension or his wife/family any further than he has already. And if he changes his previous statement, he could be charged with perjury, maybe face a jail term. If he even hints at changing his testimony he could end up being Breitbarted. Nope...don’t see it happening, wish I could.
Why is the Lebanese woman’s sister getting cash through Sheldon Whitehouse (D.RI) office? How come this setup all started around 2003 when Bush derangement syndrome was spiralling out of control? The NYT prints the betrayus ad, Reporting for duty Military Hater is running and it just so happens that this Jay dude from from little rhody is funding the dweebs campaign as well?.
These broads move to Tampa, set up a shell game and suck in these egocentric Generals...
SHTF
The other babe from NC meanwhile conveniently pursues G.P. from... surpise Harvard’s JFK School?
I could have written this and I haven’t seen a soap in 20 years.
The Democrats now own the Gens. everybody is blackmailable. They keep the cards in their pockets til needed. This is not rocket science.
Good Lord.
