RE :’Our only chance to gain the Hispanic vote is to come out for common sense immigration reform now and pray to God that it is enough”

That is called the ‘Prayer for the Dead’

"There are moral reasons to support mass expulsion. Do you really want to tear millions of children away from the only home they have ever known and loved? Such an action is cruel beyond words."

Blame the parents who came here illegally and gave birth to them, knowingly risking deportation. Don't blame a nation for trying to secure its own borders.

I agree. I’m not honestly sure where the Tea Party stands on some issues though. Baring that, I do find myself somewhat concerned that we would fight to get the takeover, then find ourselves abandoned on some issues.

I’m not an expert on the Tea Party, so I’ll default to others who may know a lot more about it than I do.

I have been happy to see them win seats from the old guard in Congress.

The Tea Party is for fiscal responsibility, and the Constitution. Vast majority against amnesty of any kind.

Bingo.

Most illegals have a bunch of children to get mega welfare. Illegals are criminals. Deportation is better for their children than throwing the parents in prison(like many other countries do)

How about Rush’s plan of granting amnesty but withholding voting privileges for 25 years.

Thanks SJB. That’s pretty much my take on it, but I haven’t followed them point for point as well as I should have.

A very good point.

The time for all this misplaced bleeding for people who break our laws——and yes, their children, too——is past. If we haven’t lost our nation, we’re close to it. For heaven’s sake, we must find our resolve and do what’s necessary to save her.

How about Rush’s plan of granting amnesty but withholding voting privileges for 25 years.

1) Let's say that 25 years from now we have 30-50 million new voters who would vote 70% for leftists. Are you really Ok with that?

2) Let's say you introduce a bill that says they can't vote for 25 years. From the same kind of politicians who in 1986 said that there would never be another amnesty. In the first place, leftist and RINO congresscrooks will push it toward a more "compassionate" bill. But if by some chance it passed with the 25 year restriction, then it could be amended by a future congress, or by the courts, or EOs/executive malfeasance.

3) What message does this send to billions of people all over the world who have thought about coming here illegally? What message to people who have applied legally and have been waiting for 10 or 20 years?

Strawman. I don't know of any current politician who is advocating Operation Wetback 2 (Eisenhower). Speaking of compassion, do we let in 7 billion people who have not come here yet? In effect, that is what another amnesty will say to those people.

Not trying to pile on, but is this the same defense we use when the sole wage-earner in a household has to go to prison for a criminal act?

A case in point, is it the U. S. government or other citizens who created the circumstances these children will have to deal with? NO! It is the person who has violated the law, that has caused whatever ramifications their act has resulted in.

Another way to look at this, is that the U. S. is poaching Mexican citizens. We have educated many of these people's children. Those children are an asset of Mexico, not the United States.

Is it our nation's right to steal useful assets that Mexico needs to improve it circumstances? Actually..., no.

"Tell me what solution would allow you to look in the mirror each morning, look your children in their eyes, remain a follower of Christ and uphold the constitution."

Very simple....legalization by permanent registry with NO citizenship option for those who came here illegally. For their minor children, permanent residency with an option to apply for citizenship on reaching 21, dependent on having a clean legal record and completing available schooling OR serving a term in one of the branches of the US military and being discharged honorably.

This means they can do anything and everything a citizen does EXCEPT influence the passage of laws by voting. An option they have already proven they don't deserve by their manner of entry.

Why do these rubes always assume that the illegals want to become US citizens? Most of them don’t give a rat’s ass about citizenship, as they have all the perks and bennies they want just being illegals!

Hey, I want to know what laws I can break, that not only will I NOT be punished for breaking, but will be rewarded for breaking. Why should the illegals get all the breaks?

I guess you are right. The best idea is to shut down the border and make the laws for employing illegals so tough that few will do it.

This is plain political suicide. They have already made millions of their supporters feel betrayed; now add more numbers to that. They will lose again in 2016. The libs are setting them up (and it’s so easy for them to do w/the media as culprits). Once they grant citizenship to the people who will be wanting hand outs; the dems will forever be in power. The GOP is definitely dying/right in front of our eyes. You cannot have weak leaders while expecting to have a strong form of government in which it will endure. It is a terrible feeling to see all of these weak and corrupt men & women holding their power and will over us vs. we, the people, expressing our will for them to enact upon.

I stole that line from Danny Devito in Other People's Money. I think it was the most perfectly delivered appropriate line in his acting history.
