Sens. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Orrin Hatch (R-Utah), three key Republican players on immigration, told The Hill they're ready to start working on broad-based reforms next year that could include a pathway to citizenship for the 11 million undocumented immigrants currently in the United States.

Goober is working on his won sell-out plan with Schumer---the story is a few posts down this morning's news.
Just watch out for the grand bargain to ‘save the country’. Zero agrees to
extend Bush tax cuts for everyone and approves the Keystone pipeline.
In exchange, he gets total amnesty.
Ungood.

You’re so right—I meant to add that!
“told my US Rep not to vote for Boehner for speaker when the session begins.”
I did, too, calling Suntan Johnny pathetic.
I hope other FReepers do likewise.
Again they will sell their souls for votes....so now the RINOS are turning into demorats..
“Hes spending the weekend with Schumer”
You’re known by the company you keep, Grahamnesty. I hope South Carolinians will retire this excresence in 2014. I know there’s no way to expect Nu Yawkers to throw Schumker out.
Absolutely correct! Aside from the complexities -- and morality -- of rewarding tens of millions of illegal Mexicans with citizenship in the country they broke into, if Rubio compromises with anything short of sealing the border he will lose the trust and confidence of the Republican Party's rapidly dwindling conservative base.
“This is what the Rinos have wanted all along and the loss they feel has given them the cover they need.”
Absolutely right. Recall for example the North American Union treaty, without Congressional debate or approval or media attention (except for Lou Dobbs), signed by George Bush; calling for a replacement of the US dollar to the Amero and elimination of both borders.
It was supposed to happen by 2010, but hey, better late than never!
Even Rush is apparently tasked to keeping the conservative troops quiet by employing the following trial baloon: “Hey - okay, we should let them go ahead and bring on total amnesty...but don’t allow *them* to vote for 25 years.” He’s not stupid, so he thinks we are. We know him and hannity are back carrying the GOP water again.
“So much for Rubio.”
In all honesty, wasn’t this somewhat obvious from the beginning?
When Mr. Rubio first emerged as a “conservative contender”, there were a few folks whisperin’, “watch out, that ain’t so!”.
In our enthusiasm to uncover a “conservative Hispanic”, we threw ourselves at him (in a similar way conservatives fell all over Colin Powell, once), without delving deep enough to see what the man was really about.
Prediction: we aren’t going to find many (any?) Hispanics, “conservative” or otherwise, who don’t support a “pathway to citizenship” for the illegals. Just not gonna happen...
Wouldn’t the US be a one party government?
This is madness.
How stupid can you be to try this twice .
Ronald Regan went along with this before and what did it accomplish ? Nothing but win dems more votes .
So lets talk about all the muslims illegals we have crossing our borders . This is only going to give them a quick path to citizenship too . Do we not learn anything from what is going on all over Europe ?
Why do we keep electing stupid people to represent us ?
a nation lost for want of a few good men and women .. hard to believe it could happen in this once great bastion of freedom and civility.. and from folks that swore oaths, to boot.
I’m sure the total now is above 30 mil illegals.
This will seal the fate of a one party system in the future!
Pubbies think the being on the fore front of solving the illegal plight will bring them into the fold!
Yea right. These new citizens have no idea of business and monetary structure. All they know is the check will be in the mail!
If Amnesty was granted on the stipulation that all benefits would be reviewed and suspended until proper re-certification is processed do you think these people would want amnesty? I think not!
Latinos would know the Republicans were pressured into Amnesty! Not one Republican Vote will come of this Fiasco!
This isn’t news. McCain and Hatch were leading the GOP charge into full amnesty several years ago along with Grahamnesty and our two potted plants Chambliss and Isaksan.
That map was interesting, but is coming from a Russian who has little real knowledge about the sentiments of Americans in the various portions of the country.
Here’s my prediction, posted yesterday:

How many times are we going to fall for this trick?
Ted Kennedy in 1965:
“The bill will not flood our cities with immigrants. It will not upset the ethnic mix of our society. It will not relax the standards of admission. It will not cause American workers to lose their jobs.”
Ted Kennedy in 1986:
“We will secure the borders henceforth. We will never again bring forward another amnesty bill like this.”
