Where these guys (chick-fil-a, pappa johns, etc) is that they telegraph their intentions. I know, I know, the urge to make a public point about why they are reducing employment is strong but if I were them I’d just do it and let everyone make their own conclusion as to why. I respectfully disagree. I think we have been relying on the low-information voter to connect the dots for far too long. I think they need to be bonked on the head repeatedly (and figuratively, of course) until they get it. Far too many people do not see cause and effect. They are like children; however, children are better at learning from experience.

Just this morning a local big chain grocery store met 4 long time employees at the door with layoff notices....No fanfare....clean out your lockers and leave....

(as an aside...I got a call yesterday from a local semi-charity that I’ve given a few bucks to in the past...I listened politely and then said...Sorry...It’s “Obama Times”...Doubt Ill be donating to you for the next 4 years....I could tell the lady was taken aback....It was kinda fun actually)

Beyond that, most folks have been taught NOT to think. I spent a year teaching in public school, and became convinced that many of my 'colleagues' were deliberately teaching the kids NOT to think, NOT to employ logic, and NOT to concern themselves with the truth of what they considered 'facts'.
