President Obama’s re-election and Democratic gains in the US Senate end any possibility of repealing the Obama health law. It will roll out as written, imposing major changes soon on you and your family. If you are uninsured because you can’t afford it, help may be on the way. But if you are one of the 250 million Americans with coverage, there are big problems ahead.
If you get your health insurance through a job, you might lose it as of Jan. 1, 2014. That’s when the new “employer mandate” kicks in, requiring employers with 50 or more full-time workers to provide the government-designed health plan or pay a fine. The government plan is so expensive, it adds $1.79 per hour to the cost of a full-time employee. That’s incidental if you're hiring neurosurgeons but a hefty increase for hiring busboys and sales clerks.
Currently, employers in retail and fast-food industries pay less than half that to cover their workers.To avoid thecostly mandate,some employers will push workers into part-time status. Other employers will opt for the fine. Either way, workers lose their on-the-job coverage.
Worse, they risklosingtheir jobs.Even the fine adds 98 cents an hour to the cost of labor, enough to make some employers cut back on their workforce.
As many as a third of employers are considering canceling coverage, according to McKinsey & Co. management consultants. But that doesn’t mean you’ll be uninsured; you won’t have that choice.
When you file your taxes, you will have to show proof that you are enrolled in the one-size-fits-all plan approved by the federal government. It’s mandatory, starting Jan. 1, 2014, or the IRS will withhold your refund....

She's a former lieutenant-governor of New York and an insurance expert. She's the one who caught the Death Panels -- she found the provisions in the Obamacare bill and read them out over the air on Fred Thompson's radio show.
Sarah Palin later named the panels, the enabling legislation for which was later found pre-packed in the TARP bill passed months and months earlier. (How 'bout that for shifty action?)
I swear Obama's small group can't be responsible for all this -- there is a Politburo somewhere writing this stuff!

Wow! $1.79 per hour per employee is damn expensive. $1.79 x 40 hours x 47.5 weeks = $3,401 per year per employee.
Now let’s do a quick extrapolatoin in the cost of a car....
On average 3 levels in the supply chain
10-12,000 parts per car
On average there is 12-15 direct labor heads per shift per part
1.25 Indirect to support them
A typical company produces 40K cars a week in the US
(12 DL + 15 Ind) x 3 supply levels x 10,000 parts = $810,000 / (40,000 / 3 shifts) = $810,000 / 13,334 = $61 per car
That does not seem like much, but the reality is that this particular company only makes a profit on average of $600 per car. So, this equates to more than 10% of their profits that are already at a paltry 3-4%!
Additionally, this particular company already pays an average of $1,200 per car in tax. The reality is that this is a 5% tax increase on manufacturers!

I really hope that does not happen. We have been very happy with Tricare Prime since I retired. My state rep and both senators will be hearing from me tomorrow. I'd do it now, but have to get ready to go to my part time job in a few minutes.
She has been saying it for years ever since Obamacare was passed. Betsy has been warning people about the real impact of Obamacare. She is an expert in the field. I am surprised that you haven’t heard her on TV and radio telling the public how bad Obamacare will be.

I paid 30% in taxes during the year last year and STILL had to pay 10 grand. And this year won’t be any better.

Actually the Death Panels are genius for the Dems:
By reducing life expectancy, you improve the financials for SocSec and Medicare

Hasten the death of old white people who are more Republican in their voting.
Good analysis...but in reality, this is a tax increase on consumers. Obamacare just goes on and on when it comes to taxes...
I owed the IRS a little once. They were keeping my refunds. I made sure I didn’t get a refund for years.
Question: How will proof be provided for those filing electronically? Or is this another thing they didn’t count on.
It will be handled like any other debt to the IRS, except the IRS agents who come to your door will be shirtless or dressed like Jill Kelley.
A few years back I owed the IRS twice as much as I had in the bank. They invaded my bank account and took everything I had. Yes, they can go into your bank accounts with no warning.

Funny thing, Dr. Dave got audited last year by the IRS....

Not to nit-pick, but the sales tax on homes is for above 250k in earnings...
P.S. My CPA gnome tells me their parent organization AIPCA (via newsletter ?) notes that next year between Obamacare and what may happen to the tax code this will cost the average tax payer $3000. Folks, the liberals and Obama OWN THIS, just wait until they start squirming...
And this was written into Obamacare as well. Not to mention the surrendering of your 4th amendment rights to your medical documents...
