J.C. Penney shares were the biggest S&P 500 percentage decliner Monday, tumbling 11% to $18.41 in afternoon trades as investors seem to be growing impatient with the companys roughly year-old transform plan.

If James Cash was alive today, he would be pissed (and he would be 137 years old!!)
That was the thing that struck me years ago when I first read AS with open eyes.
The legislation in that book sounded so...plausible.
And now...well, nothing more needs saying.
John Wayne’s not dead - he’s frozen! And when we find a cure for cancer, we’re gonna thaw out the Duke and he’s gonna be pretty pissed off. You know why? You ever taken a cold shower? Well, multiply that by 15 million times. That’s how pissed off the Duke’s gonna be. - Dennis Leary
I just asked them to stop sending me email about my “Rewards” from them. Not only did I get no response; I also get more of those emails than ever.
They used to have quality stuff. I loved their Stafford Executive shirts. And their shoes. Solid.
But over the years, they because bidding this stuff out to some of the crappiest manufacturers. It’s like third world market stuff now. And the face pierced kids with tats slouching around the sale floor to “help” you was the last nail in the coffin. The homo stuff later on just confirmed my decision for me.
Let’s suggest to intrade.com that they start a betting trade on who will go bankrupt first, NYT or JCP.
I was customer for over 20 yrs. 29% interest rate. paid them off last yr. never again.
The JCPenney men's room at a North Dallas store was a homosexual proposition hot spot, until undercover police started doing stings.
It happens when you put queers ahead of real and previously loyal customers. C’ya.
I would suspect that this was an attempt to skew toward younger lesbians. The percentage of college aged and younger lesbians is closer to 10% I’d wager.
If spokeswoman had been, say, Marie Osmond or well-known Christian entertainer, the answer would be, no way but then again Penny's didn't hire a Christian woman did they.
You forgot...
9. ALL employee parking places will have a sign proclaiming them “Employee of the Month”.
As I said before:
To be perfectly fair, JCPs stock has been tanking since 2007. It bounced back a bit in 2009. The problem is that JCP doesnt have anything anyone wants. Trying to gay-wash their retail operations isnt going to help at all - gay people wouldnt be caught dead in JCP merchandise as it is not stylish enough, and it would just turn off whatever conservative or religious shoppers (not just Christian, but Jewish and Islamic) that still shop there (for whatever reason.
Personally, I cant say I participated in the boycott - because it isnt a boycott if you werent going to shop there anyway. I havent bought anything from JCP in over 15 years. :P
Just an observation, as I have nothing against Down’s Syndrome kids, but Target’s latest catalog is replete with several different kids having Down’s.
Hahaha! I’ve never had any problems at Herald Square!
Ah, yes Montgomery Wards. I remember shopping there about 30 years ago.
Seriously, I don't see how places like JCP, K-mart and Sears are still around. Sears has a couple of things going for them, like Craftsman tools, and I like their appliances. Plus Sears is pretty good about honoring warranties and has a fleet of repairmen. Other than that, who really goes there any more?
It's mostly Walmart and Target for the economy minded nowadays.
We have a K-mart in our town right down the street from the Wal Mart.
It’s truly a zombie store, full of merchandise but no people.
Been this way for years now, don’t know how they keep going.
Or maybe it was to disguise the shoddyness of the merchandise.
Very astute post #49.
I hope they don’t run a Homo for the Holidays marketing plan for the rest of the year.
