Bingo. The majority of voters are either incapable or unwilling to sit and intelligently digest platforms and philosophies. They react to quick bits of information and are remarkably naive in their decision making. Democrats hold the edge in EMOTIONAL arguments, and that makes it very difficult for conservatives or libertarians to make sound counterarguments that will resonate. Like many others here, I think it will come to the ‘takers’ taking to the point of collapse, and then the reset button will be pushed. In the meanwhile, if you’re a person of sound conservative leanings, do what you can to protect your family and yourself from the disastrous consequences.

Toothpick, you and I think a lot alike. Too many people vote based on what they are told, not based upon what is true. It’s a shame that we can’t filter out such people if they are ignorant of political truths. The malleable ignorant voter. Its my strong belief that if only informed voters (those who really had an understanding of political truths... principles of the founding fathers, free-market principles, liberty principles, history of Marxism/ProgressiveIdeology, difference between “right” and “left” etc...) were allowed to vote, that the Democrats would never win another election.
