White House website deluged with secession petitions from 20 states

How would Old Glory look with 30 stars instead of 50? As far-fetched as it may sound, the White House might soon be forced by its own rules to examine the question.
On Nov.7, the day after President Barack Obama was re-elected, the White Houses website received a petition asking the administration to allow Louisiana to secede.
If 25,000 people sign the petition by Dec. 7, it will require a response from the Obama administration, according to published rules of the White Houses online We the People program. (RELATED: Website petition to Obama: Please create Do Not Kill list)
The Louisiana petition has collected more than 12,300 signatures in four days. A separate effort from Texas has 15,400 supporters.
Similar petitions from 18 other states began arriving Nov. 9, bringing the total for the moment to 20.
The White House website publicly displays petitions that have attracted at least 150 signers. (RELATED: Obama petition initiative bashed as unethical campaigning with taxpayer resources)
Michael E from the New Orleans suburb of Slidell penned the initial proposal the website doesnt provide last names in which he asked the Obama administration to [p]eacefully grant the State of Louisiana to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own NEW government.
His entire petition consisted of excerpts from the Declaration of Independence.

They will never be taken seriously without actions. It’s just a formalized complaint at this point.
Free Republic was way out in front on secession. Looks like the rest of the country is waking up.
I think they got this backwards. The 20 seceding states ARE the United States of America.
The other 30 are the United State of America.
Now it’s TWENTY.
Was 15 when we last checked.
The names on the petitions will be forwarded to the IRS for audits and the TSA for the no-fly list.
I say we still have the best form of representative government, that Saudi oil money can buy!
Stupidity.
bflr
Save for later read.
Future roster of the reeducation camp...
Those on the petition list will now be on the governments IRS audit list and the domestic terrorist list.
LOL! Okay, I'm as much for the exercise of this Inherent Right as anyone else, but....really?
First, 'citizens' can't petition the federal government to leave the Union.
Second, NO ONE has to 'ask' for their permission in the first place.
Third, it would have to be a written, legal document with legal verbiage such as Notice of Intent, Declaration of Secession, or (my personal favorite) Notification of Breach of Contract.
It would have to be submitted by the entity of the State, because the States that are the parties TO the compact.
If people want to leave the US, they can expatriate themselves. Haven't looked into the subject very much, but supposedly you get sent to your last 'nation of origin'.
Luckily for me, mine's the Republic of Texas. :-)
That's the problem I have with all these petitions. Everyone who signs is just self identifying for a target list. The Obama Administration is not one the citizenry can petition for redress.
How is it stupid? Ever read the Declaration of Independence? Patriots are stupid for ignoring the obvious. The establishment will never relenquish power in Washington. Even if Romney had won nothing was going to change except the curtains.
Symbolic only. Nothing will come of this attempt the same as it did when Voter ID was being asked. Pointless in my opinion but gives the idea that people are indeed waking up to this bogus gubmint we now have.

That’s the reason I don’t use my real name on petitions that pertain to the US GOVT. Because that’s the first thing they do; place your name on the audit list then add you to the domestic terrorist list for follow-up investigation if your views are “too patriotic”...lol
