WASHINGTON (AP) Two senators on opposite sides of the aisle are proposing comprehensive changes to the immigration laws that would include a pathway to citizenship for the estimated 11 million illegal immigrants now in the United States.
Democrat Chuck Schumer of New York and Republican Lindsey Graham of South Carolina, who promoted similar proposals on separate Sunday news shows said that no path to citizenship would be available until the country's borders were secure.

“Chuck Schumer of New York and Republican Lindsey Graham of South Carolina”
Man, that’s like the A-Team.
I actually liked Limbaugh’s idea: go ahead and make them legal but don’t let them vote for 25 years.
Wonder if the dems would still favor amnesty then?
Graham must be planning to retire in 2014. He barely bothers coming back to the state—his welcome is not generally warm.
Lindsey certainly dumped Benghazi pretty quickly.
Who does he think he works for?
He’s jumped into this silly competition for foreigners’ votes.
Silly senators. Do they consider how they’re going to come out in history?
Don’t they read Shakespeare?
Of course, our idea of a secure border and their declaration that such has happened will be vastly different.
You know, I think the A-Team would do a heckuva better job.
You can thank Hannity and Dr. K for helping to stoke this fire...
YUP.
They are going to finish off this country in a single term.
Hannity is vastly, comically underqualified to be spewing policy ideas on national broadcast.
That is game, set, and match if that happens.
If that were to happen, we would eventually see another conservative moment form but it might take another 50 years to happen and most of its adherents would have hispanic surnames.
That conservative movement would likely be very different from the one we have today. It would probably pine for those by-gone days when unemployment was only 7.9% and when it did not require a wheelbarrow load of dollars to pay for a loaf of bread.
I just hope they have tough enforcement measures like Simpson-Mazzoli. You know, the “last, there ain’t going to be anymore, cross our hearts hope to die” amnesty. The one with approximately 1.5 million illegal aliens, that turned out to be over 3 million (go figure). I’m sure 11 million is a low ball number. It’s probably like 1 million.
Over 70% of Hispanics vote for Democrats, and now we’re looking at adding between 20 and 35 million new Hispanics to our citizenry. Then each of them can bring over as many close relatives as they want. Hey, you’re looking at 100 million in short order.
What could go wrong with that?
The way that worked was that few residents were citizens ~ high death rate in those days ~ couldn't even have children in the city because it was so unhealthy.
But fur shur the Dems would never go for that.
And this new “path to citizenship” will be violated just like the current “path to citizenship” is.
These people are treacherous traitorous vermin.
They promised secure borders with the last amnesty back in 1986. How did that work out?
Hasn’t anyone down there tried to primary him? He has always been a huge RINO on this issue.
Nothing, if the plan is to lord over a society of dependents.
Congress (and the Courts) works for itself, not for the public.
50 million killed though abortion. Didn’t work so well for America, eh?
