Are you suggesting that Cantor should have gone public with the news? That would have been very unwise.

Why would Cantor remain mum? Maybe he knows and likes Petraeus. Maybe he thought it was classified info. Maybe he thought disclosure would hurt the GOP if the public associates Petraeus more closely with Bush than Obama. Maybe all of the above.

I don’t like Cantor, but this might be why Romney clammed up on Benghazi.

In otherwards, it added another unknown quantity.

I don’t know. Richard Nixon kicked McGovern’s behind in 1972 even though there seemed to be some kind of a problem. The Republicans thought they won a great victory. What they got was shellacked in the 1974 and 1976 elections and the joy of hearing about “Nixon and Watergate” every time they talk to a Democrat. I’m glad Cantor didn’t raise a fuss in late October. Obama has been setting the Middle East on fire to make money for himself and his buddies. If the Democrat voters, like the college professors and government employees, wake up and realize that Obama is just a Democrat grifter who starts wars and gets people killed so he can profit off it, it will kill the Democrat party.

When did Cantor find out about it? October 30th? It must have been stamped top secret and unless he talked to the FBI and was read-in then perhaps he believes in innocent until proven guilty.

Until he got all the facts do we want our guy to destroy a mans career and marriage without hearing the entire story, and most importantly, seeing the evidence themselves?

Cantor knew of the allegation from a whistle blower and referred it to the FBI, but he did not know if it was true.

The New York Times reported Saturday that on October 31, Cantor's chief of staff phoned the FBI to inform the agency about the call between the congressman and the FBI official. The Times reported Cantor learned of the whistleblower through Rep. Dave Reichert, R-Washington.

This means Valerie Jarrett(POTUS) was running p4 for a year.

Running him as a turned spy for the Chicago Communists.

He had to know he was being used and would be under the bus soon.

This weasel has no morals, values nor integrity.

If the republicans retain the current leadership in the house every republican her should resign the party. If they don’t then shut up.

I left the party under Bush 1, almost came back with the Gingrich house but Bush 2 compassionate big government conservatism sobered me back up.

Its your party republicans you get what you tolerate.... Bummer is so do we...

Issa should have been notified. Armed with this explosive information, he would have found a way to pressure releases of info on Benghazi by bargaining with administration officials through backchannels. And Boehner knew.

Perhaps Cantor thought it could have been a trap by the Chicago mob. They certainly would have no problem feeding false info to the GOP, and having it backfire big time. “How dare the GOP politicize national security, with pre-election smears against a war hero?”

Regardless, time for a real Speaker and Majority Leader. Ryan, Issa, Gohmert, anyone but these two mollusks.

I have no particular use for Cantor but what he did is what a member of Congress should have done in a case involving classified information. What would you have him do, call the National Enquirer?
