OK- In simple terms, here is where we stand:
West complained that the 37000+ “Early” votes had counting problems election night. The Supervisor said they had a faulty memory card on one of the counting machines that failed to upload all the votes. So she re-counted them at 2 am Wednesday. He claimed he was ahead by 2500 votes, and after the recount he was behind by 2000 votes. His concern was/is that some votes were counted twice.
Because of all the controversy and an admitted computer problem, the state stepped up and told the Supervisor to recount those early votes.
She publicly noticed an emergency meeting for 7am today to recount the early votes.
But then she decided only to recount 3 of the 8 days: the final 3 days with approx 16000 votes. West protested, believing all 37000 early votes should be counted.
They finished the count, with more counting problems with memory cards failing, and it showed 799 FEWER votes than originally reported.
Murphy lost 535 votes, West lost 132 votes, lowering the margin of victory to .58%. Threshold for automatic recount is .5% or less.
BUT! If counting only 3 days shows a discrepancy of 799 votes, it strengthens his contention that all 37000 votes should be re-tabulated.
I am fairly certain the state elections officials were there today, and am hopeful they will order a full re-tabulation of all the early votes. If the percentage of error holds, it could further cut the margin to trigger the automatic recount of all votes in all 3 counties in the District.

Thanks for the update. But, but, but......799 faulty counted votes out of approximately 16 000 votes! That is an error close to 5%. In an election whose outcome is determined by less than a percent of the total vote!

Come on! It isn’t that hard to organize an election with a proper vote count. What the h..l is going on? (That was a rhetorical question BTW.)

Until today a recount of the first 3 days might have been sufficient, but because of the stonewalling and shenanigans and SOE Walker’s violation of the public trust, a full accounting of all votes should now be demanded.
