After Election 2012: WWBD -- What Would Breitbart Do?
Townhall.com ^ | November 10, 2012 | Andrew Markus

Posted on 11/10/2012 4:35:54 AM PST by Kaslin

Many of us woke up the morning after the election in a daze and I imagine quite a few of us thought, okay…we lost, it is a new day…WWBD-What Would Breitbart Do? None of us can speak conclusively for him, but many of us were so deeply influenced and impacted by his leadership that in different ways his ideas live on inside of us.

Just before he died, Andrew called for a true vetting of President Obama, something that simply did not happen in 2008. Though he did not live to see it, many people led the charge and dozens of important works, from Dinesh D'Souza's hit film 2016: Obama's America to David Maraniss's book "Barack Obama" did just that. But unfortunately, something else also became more clear than ever before, the corrupt media that Breitbart often assailed had its thumbs on the scales and tipped the election in the President's favor.

Everything that Andrew predicted in my film, Hating Breitbart, played out in real-time during the election right before our eyes. From Candy Crowley interrupting and taking Obama's side in the debate to George Stephonopoulous's introducing the 'war on women' narrative in the primary debates, members of the so-called mainstream media did everything they could to re-elect Obama and they were successful. And many of us are, as Andrew so often was, righteously indignant. Some might even be feeling hopeless, tired or defeated. And while I can understand a temporary crisis of faith, I believe Andrew would refuse to surrender to a defeatist attitude over one election loss. He understood that the true fight is with the Mainstream Media and Institutional Left and that they don't get ‘elected.’ We must bring the fight directly to them relentlessly. That was always his fight and that does not change with an election cycle.

Despite how the media wanted to depict Andrew, he was not an angry person….passionate, opinioned and confrontational yes, but not angry. I believe that by now, Andrew would have already dusted himself off and turned to the people he loved, fought for and defended the most passionately and vigorously-citizen journalists. And he would remind each of us that we all have to power to expose the malfeasance and corruption in the MSM and Institutional left. He would not Monday morning quarterback the Romney campaign or dissect numbers and graphs. He would exhaust every hour of every day exposing the corrupt mainstream media for who and what they are. Though they might be silently (and disturbingly some not so silently) grateful that Andrew is no longer here to stand up to their destructive behavior, in the months and years to come they will be forced to face the reality that his spirit and his example continues on every single day with thousands of citizen journalists in every inch of this nation. And they will never be able to put the Genie that Andrew released back in the bottle. That's what Andrew Breitbart would have done, and what millions of citizen journalists will continue to do as long as we have breat

Amerika needs a do-over, NOW.

The reason that the Communists now in power have sissified the Military is to prevent a Coup....which we sorely need.

Those of us who lived Duty, Honor, Country are getting pretty old now, and the new gang has no sense of American Values of old.

I am sure he would do what the rest of us did....go to work. The biggest thing I hope that the Republicans learn from this is not to nominate another liberal Republican. That was the biggest mistake right there.

Two bad examples. D'Souza and Maraniss fell far short of exposing the true Soetoro.

I suspect (hope) that Obama’s free pass from the media just expired.

They were always far more about defeating Romney than supporting Obama. Now that R has been defeated, there is prestige and career advancement to be won by exposing O scandals. Their personal incentives now outweigh their ideological ones.

I can dream, can’t I?

Just finished listening to a CD of Breitbart’s book he completed just before his death. He makes the profound, and IMO absolutely correct point that the real battle is and always has been cultural. That the political system of a country is in the long run only a reflection of its culture. (Absent extreme physical force such as with USSR).

And the Right has for many decades now utterly abandoned the culture-creating field to the Left. Plato or one of the other old Greek philosophers said something along the lines that he’d be perfectly willing to let somebody else make the laws for the State if he got to write its songs.

Well, who’s been writing our songs for the last 50 years?

AB’s death, BTW, was IMO one of the greatest disasters of recent years, for this country and in the long run the world.

It is going to appear that way soon. Now that Zero got re-elected much of the media is going to try to appear they are on the center to boost their non-ratings. But, when the next election occurs they will jump right back to where they were before this election.

That's just my prediction.

He cannot be impeached, as the Senate is stuffed with Democrats and would never vote to impeach him, even if he personally armed the Mexicans under F&F, personally butchered the Ambassador in Benghazi and even at a live screaming white baby on national television.

Won’t happen.
There is no legitimate way to get rid of this scourge, so we must starve the beast and watch as the nation gets torn to shreds.

The only solutions will be to take over a red state and secede, say Texas, although even Texas is going blue.

The other alternative is Civil War, which is coming.

The ball is set in motion and that is where we are headed.

The succession would last minutes.

Problem is Republicans are afraid of calling out the true Obama.

I would have called him a communist for the last 4 years and ngrained it in everyone’s mind.

Each incident would have produced a new ad with the comment, “do you believe it now?”

the more the media complained, the more ads I would have produced to show they are in bed with Obama.

The day after the first debate. My ad would have said, “if you don’t believe it by now there is no hope for America.”

That’s how you fight a war.

Many of us didn’t wake up the next morning because we never were able to go to sleep on Tuseday. I was awake all night and crying. Our country is lost. In 4 years we will be completely under the jackboot of Obamacare. In 4 years the Marxists/Communists will be in such deep cover and also overtly present in all areas of our Government, we won’t be able to rescue the country. Sadly I say, stick a fork in America, we are done as a free nation.

PS-MOST of our Military still believe in the Founding principles of our once great nation. It’s just all the entrenched Liberals at the top taking down the Military.

No doubt that Andrew would continue the fight. He would continue to expose the Democrat Media Complex.

WAR.

The republicans with thier leader boner are already kneeling before the messiah for forgiveness, not to be counted on for anything! The people who are disenfranchised through voter fraud and idiocy across the board must step forward

I can dream, can’t I?
A pleasant dream it is.
Meanwhile, back in reality, the instructive case is Dan Rather and the fraudulent “Texas Air National Guard memos."
What did Dan Rather do when it was proven that the TANG “memos” story had more holes than Swiss cheese? He doubled down. He confidently expected to be exonerated and the subject changed, and to continue business-as-usual. And to a large measure he was absolutely right. CBS hired an “investigator” for the purpose of whitewashing the affair, and they swept it under the rug.

Even tho it is true that Rather was indeed forced out.

The reality of this case is that Fox News was all over Benghazi, and the rest of journalism was studiously MIA. Do you now suppose that the rest of journalism is now going to go all “mea culpa, mea culpa, mea maxima culpa” after the fact? Do you now suppose that the rest of journalism is going to give Fox News awards for courageous journalism? They will continue to circle the wagons and stonewall. It’s what they do. Their bias is expressed far more in what they do not say than it is in what they do say. And in this case it isn’t just CBS but all of journalism except Fox News which is actively involved in keeping the public in the dark. And, in the process, slandering Fox News.

The idea around which “liberalism” coheres is that nothing actually matters except PR.

Want to vet Obama? Read “The Manchurian President” by Aaron Klein. Then pack your bags. The ‘Pubbies’ didn’t stand a chance.

Of course they will oppose the GOP for the next election. They always do.

But for the next couple of years there will be career advancement and prestige to be won by revealing scandals.

People respond to incentives, and even newspeople are people, hard though that may be to believe.

When they can help themselves without electing a Republican they’ll be quite happy to do so.

Quite true. In April 1861 the mobilized South Carolina militia probably outnumbered the US Army.

The idea around which “liberalism” coheres is that nothing actually matters except PR.

And they are absolutely correct, in the short and medium run.

In the long run, my old tagline is accurate: "Perception wins all the battles, reality wins all the wars."

Conservatives and fiscal realists have been crying wolf for decades now. But the wolf never quite shows up, the can gets kicked a little farther down the road, and the public perception gets dulled a little more. (To thoroughly scramble metaphors.)

But the important part of the "boy who cried wolf" story that usually gets forgotten is that the wolf did eventually show up, and when he did he killed all the village's animals.

In the long run, it was the villagers who suffered most. Well, actually it was their animals, but you get my point, I assume.

IMO the wolf is presently showing up in Europe, and the US is no more than a few years behind them. Possibly less than that, as I am not knowledgeable about macrofinance matters.

Unsustainable systems will not, in the long run, be sustained. Which is back to "reality wins all the wars."
