Yesterday, Buster Wilson of the American Family Association said that God will punish and curse America for re-electing Obama over his supposed mistreatment of Israel. He also lamented that health care reform will not be repealed and that if Obama has the opportunity to appoint new justices to the Supreme Court

Obama is just the beginning of the penalty of that curse, more to come.
Those who traded liberty for "security" and soon "tyranny!"
Matthew 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. Rev. 20:8
Yes - “they” shall deliver you, “they” shall kill you, and “you” shall be hated”, for your sins have cursed you
there are no words there that G-d curses either “they” or “you”
Like I said. If you dont believe what was prophesied in the Old Testament or if you believe God goes back on His word there is no sense in us even discussing this.
I do not dispute that some things a cursed and as I said, it is usually the sin of the sinner that curses the sinner, not G-d and I asked you to provide a New Testament text that does not just refer to something that is cursed, ignoring that it does not take a direct curse from G-d for that, but says "G-d cursed/curses"; amd don't confuse & divert the subject from "G-d cursed/curses" to prophecy
God cursed the nations that come against Isreal in prophecy which is being lived out today. If you don’t understand or believe what prophecy says I can’t help you much.
So, are you saying the God of the Old Testament is different from the One of the New Testament?
G-d-Yeshua is the fulfillment of “old testament” prophecy and G-d-Yeshua did not curse anyone, not even the sinner, and said the sinner was cursed/condemned by their own sin.
Yes, but G-d-Yeshua has always been (John 1:1) and, in fact, is G-d (John 10:30).
And, it is G-d who instituted the law, which defines sin.
And, it is G-d (with G-d-Yeshua obviously present) who said "I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." - Genesis 12:3, a promise that is still valid today.
And, as long as we're playing legalistic semantics, I don't think G-d-Yeshua ever blessed anyone, or said anyone was blessed, although He and the Father obviously do.
So, what does Matthew 5 say?
You are just parsing words - kind of like "What is the meaning of 'is'"? If your religion is based on that, I wish you well.
However, to play your game, (you assert that the NT never says G-d cursed.....), Matthew 5 doesn't say G-d blessed...... Therefore, to use your logic, it must mean that G-d does not bless. But, we know (at least I do) from the His entire Word that YHWH does indeed bless people, and He curses them.
And, you choose to major on the minors - you haven't addressed my more important points:
- G-d-Yeshua has always been (John 1:1) and, in fact, is G-d (John 10:30).
- And, it is G-d who instituted the law, which defines sin.
- And, it is G-d (with G-d-Yeshua obviously present) who said "I will bless those who bless you, and him who dishonors you I will curse, and in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed." - Genesis 12:3, a promise that is still valid today.
Finally, although the following verses do not specifically use the word "curse", they certainly convey a similar message:
- "... I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place ..." - Rev 2:5
- "... I will throw her onto a sickbed, and those who commit adultery with her I will throw into great tribulation ..." - Rev 2:22
- "... I will strike her children dead. ... I will give to each of you according to your works." - Rev 2:23
- "... I will spit you out of my mouth." - Rev 3:16
There are others, just like there are many in the OT and NT that convey the message of God's love, mercy, and grace. I urge you to embrace the whole counsel of God and His Word.
I keep it bookmarked. It has all the punishments of a faithless nation listed. In order..............
