You have to be elderly to qualify for Medicare. If you happen to get poor before growing old, you go on Medicaid.

I wouldn’t deem them all leeches.

I think it’s a horror story that we have lowered our import taxes and outsourced our jobs overseas and we have this many poor now. This is a shame that stains the records of several administrations.

Almost everyone who ends up in a nursing home will need Medicaid (unless they die before spending all their money).

EVERYONE I have ever met who is on Medicaid is scamming the system.

Met a driver whose family is on it - he’s basically paid in cash, while his wife has a job. Family therefore is below poverty level

Know several Chinese immigrants who simply do not report they are actually married. Gov’t sees wife+kids, no income. Dad owns the business. They all work there at no salary, so everything is under the radar. They qualify for medicaid.

I could site more stories

No, you don't. Anybody who has paid in for 40 quarters and becomes disabled and draws s.s.d.i., after 2 years of disability is auto enrolled in medicare parts A & B.

If your income level is low enough you can get medicaid or medicare and medicaid.

No, moron.

You qualify for Medicare because you're old and paid for it all your life.

You get Medicai because you're neither old, nor ever paid a cent, but learned how to game the system and how to have the working taxpayers support you.
