Actress Ashley Judd's name is being thrown out as a Democratic challenger to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) in 2014.
Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.) listed her as a possibility.
"If you had an Ashley Judd-McConnell race, I think it would be as high profile a race as Elizabeth Warren and Scott Brown," Yarmuth said in an interview with the Courier-Journal of Kentucky, referring to the Massachusetts Senate candidates.
Judd has been active in Democratic politics. She was a delegate at the Democratic National Committee and also taped campaign ads for President Obama.
McConnell has begun gearing up for his reelection bid. He has a war chest of about $7 million and also hired former Ron Paul aide Jesse Benton to run his campaign.
Kentucky Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes, Lt. Gov Jerry Abramson and Obama campaign fundraiser Matthew Barzun, have also been mentioned as possible Democratic challengers to McConnell.

Ha, yup that is the photo. I think she had a “Hands off my Bush” sign, too, though perhaps that is another lib celeb from the past.

I think you are thinking of Sarak Jessica Parker. She is the one with the face of Incitatus.

I’m saying anyway graduating Phi Beta Kappa from the University of Kentucky and getting a Public Policy M.A. from Harvard is undeniably intelligent, not that she doesn’t rub me the wrong way or I agree with her positions.

I won’t laugh. Integrity, intelligence, ethics or morals have ceased to be in demand in the political realm or society for that matter.
Obama has won two terms as President of the United States with much less than Ashly Judd’s two major assets.

Uh, if they’re expecting us to rally behind Mitch McConnell they will be sorely mistaken.

While i have little use for Messr. McConnell he has made a very close study of the Senate Rules and knows them a lot better than Dingy harry. As a result he has mastered tripping the Dems up on procedural issues and out maneuvering them on parliamentary actions. He just is gutless and reminds me of a owl, able and sharp taloned in the dark clueless and cowering in the light of day.

Although, I share Judds desire to retire McConnell, The Gobbler.
Lets do it through the primary with A credible Tea Party Candidate.
And send Judd back to Hollywood.

Indeed she was good at studying, including a talent for reading scripts. But even though my wife likes her acting, I soured on her when I saw her speak about climate issues on PBS. When she goes off script she ain't so smart.

My guess is that since PBK admission is done on grades and ‘other’ standards of supposed character and leadership and that she went to the Kennedy School of Government being able to recite the right leftist pc pap was easily as important as any grade point average and look at what the proportion of over 3.00 GPA’s in most public and ‘prestige’ (read leftist) private colleges and universities today in the non-science, engineering and business departments when determining just how brilliant some self-annointed wizard of smart from Harvard or Yale or Georgetown really is.
