Since Tuesday I’ve been just a tad less sympathetic to the people on the eastern seaboard. They’ve still got my sympathy and desire to see them helped, but my tagline is on my mind these days.

I'm not looking for any sympathy from you, but if you had been into some of the areas that don't have power yet you would understand. About 1/2 mile from my house there is (or I should say was) a 120 year old Lighthouse. It's missing all that's left is the rock it was built on.

In Brooklyn, they turned on the power without warning, and almost set several co-op buildings on fire. All of the below ground electrical is contaminated with salt water, and most of the above ground wiring is damaged in large areas.

Keep in mind that this area is much more densely populated than down south, and almost every structure has a basement due to subfreezing winter weather.
