A winter storm battered the Northeast coast Thursday after cutting power to at least 115,000 homes and dumping record snowfalls in the New York City area.
The National Weather Service warned of wind gusts as high as 60 mph along the coast, minor to moderate flooding from storm surges, and more snow, particularly in New England, early Thursday.
More than 600,000 people were without electricity as a result of superstorm Sandy and the new storm.
NBCNewYork.com reported that more than 198,000 Long Island Power Authority customers, 55,000 Con Edison customers in New York City and Westchester County, 197,560 Jersey Central Power & Light customers, and 9,000 Atlantic City Electric customers had no power.

I don’t blame you folks in the southern states one bit. You sent teams to help restore power to the NE and they said get lost you’re not union. I’m with ya...let them freeze until the government solves their problems. I have little compassion these days.
Cold, rain, and snow on the NORTHeast COAST in November? Why, I’m astounded!
They’d better call President Obama and make him fix that bad old weather. Get revenge on those low-pressure cells! Get in the face of that mean, racist north wind! Show ‘em who won!

‘I dont blame you folks in the southern states one bit.”

LoL
Nope, no such prayers here.

Back during Alicia, one apartment complex got their water and power restored but after another 2 weeks still didn't have hot water. Someone finally decided to check on the furnace. Duh, it needed to be lighted. Amazing what a little self initiative can accomplish.
This must be a really big storm. Or just another day in January in Wisconsin. Been there, done that.
I am struck by the lack of any preparedness by these people. They didn’t do a darn thing to help themselves.
You betcha!
And when you run out of fuel, don't come crying for help from Texas.
Find a nice warm solar blanket!
Just stand by Christie. He should be hot as a pot bellied stove.
obammie’s election the first time was supposed to slow the rising water of global warming, maybe this time he can stop a nor’easter.
eh, guess not.
wait there for your government to help you.
more global warming
Maybe if it gets warm enough it will put most of that crap hole under water.
They voted for the t*rd-in-chief.
Let the b*stards freeze to death in the dark.
(Not really, but it really felt good to say it.)
LOL...same here.
