I don’t care if counting the votes takes a month or two to get a final count, paper ballots are the only way to eliminate this threat of vote tampering. The paper ballots could be, by law from Congress, be maintained for six years and then transferred to microfish, as a measn of protecting the recorded votes so investigations could be legitimized. If the 2000 election was stolen by vote fraud, I want people prosecuted. If the 20012 election was stolen, I want hangings. There has to be a reason why the damned Republican’ts didn’t try to do anything about securing the vote when they held the House, the Senate, and the White House. If they were cheating too then I want both sides exposed and hangings to ensue. Sadly, it is no longer true that We The People are the sovereigns of this now dead Republic. The oligrachs now rule and nothing will wrest control from them because they work for someone higher on the gloablist scale such that both parties are thoroughly corrupted and the media is owned by the paymasters.

I agree. The biggest issue this nation faces, IMHO, is the lawlessness within our own government. The other issues could be reasonably solved if we had real ways of holding government accountable to the rule of law.

The vulnerability of paper records is that if they’re going to be counted by machine at all they use punch-holes and a whole stack can be lined up at once and punched through with a knitting needle. And the handling gets the “hanging chads” mess. If they were hand-tabulated there’s the potential for human error/fraud and it would take a long time.

Probably any method would require enforced accountability in order for people to be very confident of integrity. And that would mean a lot of safeguards set in place, to get rid of the opportunities for fraud. Observers from both parties and video surveillance from the moment the door is unlocked to the moment the FINAL results are sent to the SOS (AND both parties, simultaneously) should be considered the bare minimum.
