I spent a great time talking to my sweet, but sometimes clueless daughters about the impact of this election. They tend to see themselves as more progressive - pro gay marriage, global warming, etc... (before you guys flame away, please know I did my best -- this is college academic influence on them). The sense I get from them and from my conversations today with friends and acquaintances, is that there seems to be a overwhelming atmosphere of regret or to be more graphic and explicit...an oh s__t, what did we just do attitude.
I don't see an in-your-face hurrah jubilation like 4 years ago (except among the DBM)...just a quiet, somber reaction. I wonder if you guys are sensing that and if so, is it registering in Washington? The dynamics are definitely different this time around and I hope it is seen as unsettling to those in power. I'm feeling an edge, a vibe of unrest, uncertainty.
Tackle-box head?
Do they like that even less than they do when I call someone with tats a “Future Lampshade”?...
The rest of us recognize that this time it won't be Jews, gypsies and mental defectives in the camps. It will be Christians.
If there is a threat, it isn't from us, but from the guy you insured would rule the caliphate over America, good job, dud.
I do know the difference, and I do see, if any marker is given the the ash pit you join it will say "Good Christians". Maybe you'll get a lake? There's one in Poland that is still black to this day.
You really don't have any idea what you've made possible here do you?
Damn. Just damn.
Given that I studied Robert Conquest and read Solzhenitsyn years before it was cool, I do recognize the potential malice of leftwing tyrannies. I am familiar with the policies and dogmas of Dzhugashvili, Bronshtein and Ulyanov (odd how so many politician use aliases). I also recognize the comparable emptiness in eugenics and control obsessed statists in what is called (but is not) the ‘right’, and will not support the SturmAbteilung because of fear of Spartacists. To hell with them both.
Should your dark fantasies come to pass, don’t look for me in some Auschwitz. Look for me in some Warsaw Ghetto. I wholly subscribe to Patton’s formula that patriotism is making the other son of a bitch die for his country. It might please you to contemplate the liquidation of people like me, but I am going to have to disappoint you.
I will be shoulder-to-shoulder with you.
It might please you to contemplate the liquidation of people like me,
Not in the slightest.
but I am going to have to disappoint you.
To the contrary, you have at least partially redeemed yourself in my mind.
We potentially have a couple of years to survive and maybe the 2014 elections will provide some reinforcements and renew our spirit for the fight.
In the mean time, I pray for education, wisdom and understanding, for myself, for "them" and for us, along with my prayers for mercy.
We've really screwed the pooch...and about half of us seemed to be happy about it!
Bestiality, just another fine service the left offers...
Pun fully intended.
By the end of 2013, we’ll have to call it marriage.
I have blocked several lib friends from my Newsfeed, not all, just the obnoxious ones posting “I saved big bird” type crap all the time. Some who said the voted Obama on election haven’t posted since.
For now I’ve just ‘unfriended’ the “Vagina Voters.” I just cannot believe that they consider contraception/abortion more important than jobs, the economy, national security. They have posted the absolutely most stupid, mindless posts I could have imagined. It’s embarrassing that I ever knew females like that to begin with.
I had a friend who was an Obama voter. I told her she must be happy. She said Not Really the Republicans still had the House. I told her by the end of Obama’s second term gas will be $7 to $8 and heating oil will be double...that’s what Obama said he wanted to do. She said He didn’t say that, but she sat in the corner scowling for the next 15 minutes. I think I made her wonder if she did the right thing.
I had another friend who was an Obama supporter that I saw today. I said How was your election night? She said She loved it. I said You know what I think, I think the Republicans should go ahead and give the Democrats everything they want...raise taxes , open the borders, all of it. She seemed amusingly uncomfortable with the idea.
I think a lot of these people just want to win to WIN. I don’t think they necessarily want what Obama has been giving us.
The only solace is that they - Obama and all who voted for him- now own whatever happens to this country. HE will likely be delighted, not so much many of those voters.
Yesterday, I went to a bookstore I’ve patronized for almost thirty years—it’s a local chain, the owner is a conservative—and the manager was gloating about the Obama win. “My boyfriend and I were, like, high-fiving and like dancing around the house! I really think, like, Texas will be, like, blue next time! The only people I know who like are against Obama are like the military guys who think he’s going to like take away their pensions and stuff, but he’s totally not.” The thing that really got me was when she said, “He like said we should all like be one America, which totally means he’s like really patriotic!” Thirty years, and I’m never going back. I have been trying to decide whether or not to write to the owner to explain why. Having a manager who uses like as a comma is bad enough on its own. But, my brother-in-law had his hours cut back severely on Wednesday (coincidence?), and I’ve lost any patience for doing business with out and proud Obamaites. I’ve gone Galt.
You don't have to use a nuke for its possession to affect the dynamic of your relationships.
I guess you think all nukes are outside the States, too, huh?
Fortunately, there are many command and control systems which would prevent unauthorized persons from taking control of our national strategic arsenal.
Any time the federal government threatens to nuke State you can bet your ass any nukes in a State will be taken by force.
Well good news. Today the professor revealed he thought we were on a slippery slope and asked the students if they saw any similarities between themselves and Hitler youth. Surprisingly, a few of the students were able to see the similarities. So all is not lost.

Do so.
That is good, and unexpected, news.
