Prior to the Civil War the North and South for the most part were contiguous in their areas of influence. There was wide spread support for the goals of the repsective antoganists. Modern day America is balkanized into incoherent areas of influence. There isn’t even widespread support for closing the border let alone defending real American values in a civil war.

It will be worse this time, more like Bosnia, or the Spanish Civil War.

I've been reading about the Spanish Civil War. Talk about a nasty war.

If a conflict of that caliber does kick off here in the US, expect to see horrific casualty rates and atrocities that would make the most hardened men weep tears of sorrow.
