A prediction I made on another FP article after the election last night:
Texas will float a trial balloon dealing with succession from the US and will find a significant number of states in agreement with them. This will result in either a new political block that neither DC republicans nor democrats know how to deal with or start in motion the actual succession of states from the US. Maker states, like farming country et al, tired of supporting taker states like Ca, NY, NJ, Mass, Il. If succession becomes a viable option Eastern Washington, Eastern Ca., SW Illinois and Northern Fla will try to break away from the taker socialist parts of their states.
several years ago on the political forum at a football site, a smug yet usual ignorant left winger laughed at the thought of succession, stating that the red states would never survive without the blue states....
i reminded him that the bread basket, oil reserves, etc are found in the red states and told him you can move Wall Street from NY to downtown Dallas but the bread basket ain’t going anywhere....he quickly shut his mouth...
The word is “secession.”
Will never happen, at least not in a way that would have any result that would benefit liberty.
Obama already has EO’s in place (and possibly countless others) that nationalize the nation’s farm and food production. When it comes down to it - the state will use brute force to take over and secure those growing regions.
How many will be willing to die to “starve” other Americans? That’s what will be said, and the nation will applaud armed force used to confiscate what the state needs to hand out sustenance to it’s slave class.
That’s the facts. It’s not going to be North versus South here. Because it will be your own locals who come along with Obama’s army to take what they requisition for themselves.
But we can choose to resist, and decide how we will go out. FOr that is the only real freedom we have left to us.
And eventually - tyranny even takes that away from it’s people.

Division of the Nation would be the best way to handle the opposites that reside here. If global socialism lives, freedom dies. If freedom lives, global socialism dies.
Just as long as those states that decide to secede remember that there are many conservatives stuck in progressive states that would gladly move and pledge allegiance to a conservative confederacy.
Not everyone that lives in Massachusetts is a loony tune liberal, and not every Texan is to the right of Barry Goldwater.
Otherwise, I do not see another avenue to pursue.
Obama is going to go full radical in the next four years, proving his Cloward/Piven bona fides.
I was think that (again) this morning. Texas ought to just secede and be done with it.
You can count on all of California east of the west rim of the central valley to come with you. (that’s all of the water, forest, and farm land.)
I think this needs to happen if we’re going to live in peace. We should start planning for it. Just secede. What are they going to do about it? Go to war? Ha!

Surprisingly enough, NY State residents and businesses pay more out to the fedgov than the the fedgov sends back to NY State.
Liberal destroyed freedom restricted demonrat run NY State is - believe it or not- a maker state.
It pays for all its social welfare programs by taxing the living shit out of any person or business unfortunate enough to be here.
Don’t forget that even in the “taker” states like Pennsylvania, there are vast swaths of the state populated by makers. In the western half of our commonwealth, there are only two taker counties. In the western three quarters, there are only three. Every other taker county is clustered along the eastern border.
