" Our Constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other. " John Adams
I believe you need to read the quote, Nifster.
The Constitution is a rock..... the people have abandoned the very thing that undergirds it.
***There are two standards because there are two classes - the makers and the takers. The makers have become a permanent subclass.***
And when the makers stop making(because there’s no point in it when the government confiscates too much of the spoils), the takers won’t have anyone to take from....and then we will welcome Greece to our shores.
“The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to timne with the blood of patriots and tyrants.”
Thomas Jefferson
God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are a gift from God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just, and that His justice cannot sleep forever.— Thomas Jefferson
I have thought of this (as well as many other things today) and decided it sure would have been nice if God gave a teeny tine hint at what His plan is. *sigh* I'm sturggling today to see any good in anything.
Thank God my grandparents weren’t (none of them). We’re conservative through and through. (Well, cousins have fallen far from the tree - eviroNAZI commies, but my line is strong.)
Even today (we were all commiserating and venting about Tuesday) Mom recounted how her mother was NOT caring at all or sad about FDR’s passing. She told a woman she knew - aunt or cousin - who came to her house all crying about FDR’s death. Gramma said she was sad for the woman because it meant so much for her but really, it didn’t bother Gramma 1 bit. (Also, some little child was crying as they were walking in Baltimore, and he gushed that poor FDR had died - Gramma “oh well”.)
Heh. There were precious few "Grammas" back then.
