I'm not one of those seeing a silver lining on what happened yesterday. This was a crushing defeat for liberty and freedom. Not to get to hyperbolic about it, but I would not be surprised at all if I never see another President in my lifetime who believes in the kind of freedom and liberty envisioned by the Founders of this great nation. I live in California, the state that once bequeathed Ronald Reagan to the nation, but where we now have liberal Democrats holding every statewide office, and the Republicans have less than a third of the seats in the state legislature. It's simple math . . . we have imported millions of people who are more interested in handouts than opportunity, and we have taxed, regulated and harassed those who work for a living out of business and out of the state. The end result is that Democrats are guaranteed power for the forseeable future, even as the conditions of life for everyone except the rich and public employees gets worse and worse every year. What's happened in California over the past twenty years will happen to the rest of America, as sure as winter follows fall and the night follows the day. Within the first two years Obama will grant citizenship to tens of millions of illegal aliens, and loads of free goodies to every little niche group with their hands out, and that will be the end of the story. They will vote Democrat for generations to come no matter how bad things get, and there won't be nearly enough freedom-loving Americans to offset them. I'm sorry to be downer, but it is what it is, I'm living it now, you will be soon.
If ya gotta do time....well...
Cheers
If I’m not mistaken, illegal aliens constitute a lower percentage of the Hispanic population of Texas as against California. If we were just dealing with native born Hispanics and a regulated trickle of new immigrants, it wouldn’t be a problem. It’s the flood of people who will now attribute everything they have in life to the Democratic Party that is the issue.
(And I didn't think I could laugh today.)
Texas went 57% to 41% (4,555,799 to 3,294,440) for the Romulan. It is sad to say but with new crops of invaders coming in every day and their birth rate and no way to stop them that Texas will be blue in ten or fifteen years.
No problem and you’re welcome!
Enjoy!
Don’t do that. It’s a trap, believe me, through my jobs, I’ve seen it happen too many times. You’re a productive, free citizen, and you see a chance to get a freebie, and then one things leads to the next, and the next thing you know, the “free goodies” are all you have, and you’re sitting in front of some bureaucrat who’s talking about how your benefits are going to be cut and/or you no longer qualify. Stay free for as long as you possibly can!
My family left the Ventura/Santa Paula/Ojai area in 1970. Went to Arkansas.
School, college, job, moving around have planted me in middle TN for the last 22 years.
Come on in, the water is warm. Good jobs, low cost of living, no income tax, decent sales tax, low property taxes, good schools, and great retirement areas.
It’s over.
Life long Massachusettes citizen here.
I live among these fruits EVERY day.
I know.
it’s over.
thank god i never had children.
ain’t that sad.....
i have aways said the inherent flaws of human nature will be the end of us.
Envy and jealousy will drive this country into the gutter.
The “you didn’t build that” schtick is not only arrogant, it’s a hope-zapper.
When i was a kid i used to dream about visiting California, At the time the state was highlighted on every TV show.
California just looked sooooo nice and comforting.
Now, as a 45 yrr old adult you could not even pay me to visit that retched state.
This coming from a life long MA resident.
California, The land of fruits and nuts.
Tennessee is one of the states we’re looking at.
The rest of america to help re-build California?
Re-buid yourself you freaks.
California continues down its path to nowhere. The best thing to write down is to remember that your environment is changing,it shouldn’t be about leaving this state but about adjusting to it.
In time, this idiocy will run its course.
The west coast is waaaay past due for a monster earthquake. Maybe Gov. Brown can start hugging on Obama ahead of time, just in case the worst happens in the next 4 years.

” I realize that eventually the same problems which have sunk California, will invade every corner of the U.S.”
Bzzzt! Wrong.
I live in a state that votes 70% + conservative every election. You can’t extrapolate California crazy to every state because it’s not happening.
Due to family commitments this will have to be my fantasy baseball league for a while..... But as soon as I can find solid figures for each state. The percentage that went for Romney vs Obama, I am going to post them as a vanity thread. The states with the highest percentage of pro-Romney votes are good states to move to
My guess is the top Romney states are in the Nebraska to Idaho region and a few the south. Texas vote went how high against Obama?
Yeah, sure. Keep thinking that way. Good luck.
Cheers!
It will be interesting to see how California copes with the taxation. Democrats like to talk about raising taxes but only if they can get Republicans to go along with it. Shared blame is very important.
People live so tightly these days that you have to warn them before you reduce their pay because of a tax increase. You wouldn’t believe how much it pisses people off, especially Democrats.
Ya taxes can can suck, but being very frugal on all purchases covers it, plus we don’t buy anything unnecessary and haven’t for about 5 years now. It’s the price of living in paradise.
Ya see, the year round near perfect Mediterranean style weather here is worth a fortune to us.
BTW, we went deep sea fishing last Christmas Eve, BBQ’d in the afternoon, while wearing shorts....
