A nor'easter blustered into New York and Jersey on Wednesday, threatening to swamp homes all over again, plunge neighborhoods back into darkness and inflict more misery on tens of thousands of people still reeling from Superstorm Sandy.
Under ordinary circumstances, a storm of this sort wouldn't be a big deal, but large swaths of the landscape were still an open wound, with many of Sandy's victims still mucking out their homes and cars.
Thousands of people in low-lying neighborhoods staggered by the superstorm just over a week ago were warned to clear out, with authorities saying rain, wet snow and 60 mph gusts in the evening could set back the cleanup, topple trees wrenched loose by Sandy, and erase some of the hard-won progress made in restoring electricity to millions of customers.
"I am waiting for the locusts and pestilence next," New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said. "We may take a setback in the next 24 hours."

I really couldn’t possibly care less.
Those poor people are living in a dangerous area. The federal government, led by the EPA, has to come in prevent people from ever living there again, for their own good.
God bless you.
You are not responsible for their reprehensible attitudes.
Look what “fellow Germans”, “fellow Russians”, “fellow Vietnamese”, et cetera did to their “fellow people”.
Way too many naive people here.
I wish that was true, but we in Texas have had little rain since 0 bummer won in 2008. I hope his reelection does not mean four more years of drought. Lake Travis - our main water supply - is less than 50% capacity. It is 62 miles long with an average depth of over 100 feet.
We were thinking of donating to the Red Cross or Salvation Army to help the beleagured Northeasterners. But after last night’s elections, they got their Saviour. Barack Hussein Obama. Instead I’ll just look at their plight on my big screen TV from my lazy boy and eat popcorn.
More than 3.5 million people in NY and NJ voted for Romney yesterday.
That's more than red states Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas and Alaska combined.
Brainless idiots.
You mean there really was no damage from Sandy?
Another reason I live in California. Currently 73 degrees, clear, sunny, with a mild pacific breeze...
I wish everyone on the east coast the best of luck!
Maybe this storm can make the Kenyan look “presidential” again.
Well, they need to get out of there before they are eaten by their neighbors.
I wouldn`t send them a rock hard turd!
The drought this past summer hit Illinois the hardest and Hurricane Sandy hit the District of Criminals.
I call it the curse of Obama.
Sorry
Good for them.
Hopefully i’ll be chowing down on a extra-large roast beef w/mayo and onion sub while watching those frigging NY/NJ losers waiting in a water and soup line on cnn.
f’ing idiots, as a normal person living in a potential disaster zone i actually have food, water, propane, gasoline, med supplies and blankets, flashlights and
and a small generator among other important STUFF at hand.
If you vote or identify yourself dem/lib YOU ARE ON YOUR OWN.
F’ing a-holes.
” *** “!

Kart, your Bible also says "the candle of the wicked shall be put out."
And I concur with our colleagues whom I have pinged: these "fellow Americans" are the useless eaters, the Golden Horde, the FSA that we've all become aware of, and the dangers they pose to society. They are the ones who have countless times wished death upon us. Now, if they get even a taste of the horror that awaits them, the horror that you yourself have helped us prepare for, then maybe some of them will have a "come to Yeshua" moment.
But just between us girls, I hold out no hope for them. Four years of socialism have only left them crying out to Fedzilla for more. We've all specualted that there will be a massive body count come the collapse. Maybe it's just begun.
Then don’t start up threads that will bring out such feelings. I know, as you obviously do, that many here are hoping that those in NY and NJ blow the hell out to sea.
But it’s good you told me not to say that. Thanks for the censorship.
