The shock of last nights electoral outcome in the presidential race is setting in for some conservatives. But just how it was lost seems to be up for the debate.
On Laura Ingrahams Wednesday radio show, conservative commentator Ann Coulter and Ingraham debated who is to blame. Coulter, author of Mugged: Racial Demagoguery from the Seventies to Obama, was less willing to fault the candidate Mitt Romney, while Ingraham put the loss mostly on the shoulders of those running the Romney campaign.
COULTER: I think Romney ran just on his own force of will, a magnificent campaign. I think he was the perfect candidate. INGRAHAM: Are you kidding me? You think he ran a magnificent campaign?

Perhaps propert owners and veterans of any sex would make more sense.
Obviously, the initials CC are just a coincidence. The key factor is that both of them are (or in Crist's case, were) RINO Republicans, not conservatives.
Cristie may have signed his own political death warrant by cozying up to Obama as he did. He may have alienated a lot of Republicans not only in NJ but around the country. He's up for re-election next year.
I could get behind that.
I imagine the Founders might have made it a pre-requisite for voting if they could have foreseen the pathetic state of the current electorate.
When Romney was nominated and Ann C was all giddy, I swore I will never spend another dime on her. I stand by that statement and hope many FReepers join me!
From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.
-The American Electorate
I thought Romney was an excellent candidate, however how do you sell jobs to people who don’t want to work?
My ability just tanked.
If not Mitt Romney, then who do you think would have won the day for the Republicans?
If it all goes down the tubes in the next four they may come crawling back and a conservative might have a chance.
But this country will never elect an evangelical as president. It will never happen.
So we need to separate the perception of being a constitutional conservative with the notion that means also being an evangelical.
It’s all about getting 270 EV. That means getting people outside our own comfort zone to like us enough to pull the lever for us.
I’ve always have been very impressed Condi Rice, although I admit I don’t know where she stands on social issues. Is Marko Rubio eligible? I really like his energy. I really really like Alan West as well.
Bush?
I stopped reading when you threw blame at Rush.
Bush isn’t an evangelical. He is an active Methodist, though. Which speaks well of him.
Carter?
Yet he gave a good one.
When Romney finished his victory speech he was asked if he'd written a concession speech.
Romney said Ive only written one speech at this point.
The media ran with that. I don't know if they ever got back to him later to ask whether he'd written the other speech.
Too easy to assume he didn't and chalk it up to his arrogance.
Rush was not a happy participant, but apparently had to jump on the romney bandwagon. He was geninunely a Santorum supporters, but changed. He sounded like he was holding back and wanted to say other things, but stopped himself for the first few days. I'm sure the owners of clear channel had things in his contract that required him to go alone. By the way, clear channel is owned by Bain Capital.
A TEA Party conservative supported by the GOP may have made the difference.
I’m very much a TEA party supporter. Proudly so in fact. The TEA party is large and enthusiastic. However, it also is made up of pretty much all those that would vote for the Republican candidate anyways.
The TEA party isn’t monolithic to be sure. But it’s still an arm of the conservative side of the Republican party.
Which means you really don’t gain anything.
Palin could not hope to get the support of 51% of the country.
