My 6 year old granddaughter voted for Romney in a mock election in her class. She was the only one who did.
This morning her Mother told her Romney had lost.She cried like she had lost her best friend. It is for her and my other grandchildren that I will not give up on any of this.

Finny, I agree with everything you say and have said about Romney, and almost everything you say about Rush.
BUT this show today explains to a tee why we are outnumbered and the mentality we are dealing with.
The guys on Red Eye Radio offered up an explanation last night that had to do with the economic anxiety people are still feeling after the crash. They have lost their confidence in the American economy. The more they hear Conservatives preach about the bad economic conditions that exist under the present administration, the high unemployment, the rising share of the population in poverty and on food stamps, falling housing prices, the more anxious they become, and the more they see the government as their safety net.
Even those that have jobs fear that they may lose them, and want government programs to be there just in case.
Ironically, the more Romney highlighted Obama's failures, the more anxious these people become about their economic situation, and embrace Big Government.
Seems like a possible explanation to me.
How do WE “repair the lack of morals”??? That is something one can only do for oneself! And for those without them, and who are given no reason for acquiring them — because Daddy Guv is taking care of all the consequences of their IMmorality — that change is NOT likely to take place.
This is a huge part of why we are where we are. Poor choices are REWARDED over and over and over again. The incentive to live a moral life has been GONE from our society for 40 years!

You think the "single issue" (abortion) mentality is why Romney lost? You're mistaken. All Romney had to do was to say that he'd like to see Roe v Wade overthrougn and the issue put back to the states, and it would have been good enough for me and probably for a lot of anti-abortion folks like me. But the real reason I refused to vote for Romney is because he's AMORAL and a proven statist liberal. His pro-abortion stance was not the reason I refused to vote for him, it was just one more thing that made it obvious he was a stupid, bad choice.
You're damned right I blame Romney for the loss. The GOP was warned loud, clear, often, and early this would happen if the guy was nominated. Romney had and has no business even being in the Republican party.

I put Romney's loss on at least two factors: 1. the "historical nature" of the Obama presidency 2. the long continuously renewed shadow of Bush's legacy The anti-Mormonism among evangelicals (see also the freepers obsessed with white horse prophesies) also played a not insignificant part.
I think your three points are spot on. You can add that the MSM still holds power and have been a major help to Obama as well.
