Herman Cain: A nation divided, big and small
Politico ^ | November 7,2012 | KATIE GLUECK

Posted on 11/07/2012 8:17:42 AM PST by Hojczyk

Herman Cain called the United States a “divided nation” on Wednesday, saying that half the voters ignored the big issues.

“We are a divided nation, not on political ideology the way it may have been several decades ago,” the former GOP presidential candidate said on Fox News Channel’s “America’s Newsroom.” “We are divided on class warfare, we are divided racially, we’re divided in a whole lot of other ways in terms of small things, not the big things.”

Cain criticized half of the electorate for ignoring the “substance” and focusing instead on what he characterized as less substantive matters.

“I just think, unfortunately, 50 percent of the electorate really don’t look deep enough at the substance of some of these big issues,” Cain said. “And as a result, we are going to be stalled right where we are today.”

He also said that Obama won because he is a popular figure.

“The voters that reelected President Obama looked past broken promises, they looked past a stagnant economy and they voted for popularity,” Cain charged. “President Obama ran a very effective popularity campaign, not a campaign of substance. Unfortunately from my perspective and the perspective of many others, he won based on popularity.”

Sounds like it’s time to really divide.

Listen he is right. To add to that I have many acquaintances who know more or care more about Dancing With The Stars, Mob Wives’ and the David Letterman show. Not to mention all the other dumb TV shows out there and the many people whose lives revolve around nothing but sports. I was never big into politics in my life until Reagan came along and then I suddenly realized that these things really matter.

Herman, please, they looked no further past their nose at their gov’t check, bailout, or mortgage relief. It ‘s always about the freebies and these parasites have taken our whole economy down the toilet. Takers > Producers. Time to kick these losers to the curb. As the song says D-I-V-O-R-C-E. No one has to be responsible for their poor choices.

King James Bible (Cambridge Ed.)

Proverbs 29:2
When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn. (Then they turn to elect him again like a Pavlovian dog returns to it’s own vomit!)

The voters have sold their birthright for pottage.

I would blame it on giving women the right to vote. Too many women see Washington as a husband who won’t leave the toilet seat up...

Yeah, it’s too bad the left wouldn’t ever let that happen.

They know exactly how that would end up.

They’d be a third world shithole and we’d prosper.

“Popular” tastes like filet mignon and it’s a lot cheaper than oil, coal ...... oh wait .... you can’t eat it? It won’t run the car or the heat pump/AC? To quote the lady on the street in NYC waiting for help that hadn’t come .... “we’re all gonna die!”.

Many Obamazombies are going to reap what they voted ... and a lot of folks who don’t have worm holes for brains aren’t going to be throwing them a lifeline this time.

You initiated a policy to tolerate the Marxist-Alinsky radicals and let them rant; not only has it not ceased but was constantly augmented by decades of infiltration and indoctrination. You now have two Americas. In my opinion, it will not cease until a crisis shall have been reached and passed. "A house divided against itself cannot stand." I believe this government cannot endure, permanently, half statist and half free; I do not expect the house to fall; but I do expect it will cease to be divided. It will become all one thing, or all the other.

(If some are offended that I post this so often.. well I really believe what Lincoln said in the 1850s is true today. I also believed that there should have been steps taken a generation ago to stop this from happening. Now those 1960s Marxist-Alinsky campus radical, psycho spoiled brats who were celebrated in the establishment MSM as the most intelligent generation ever! have arguably become the Establishment. Obama is a product of those pukes.)

First - I agree with this analysis. But the question I would add is did those who stayed home do so for big or small reasons?

” - - - we are divided racially - - - “

Cut the BS about your damned Race Card, Herman!

“Race-baiting” is just a way of providing a smokescreen to what the problem is that divides Americans from each other.

We have 47 % in the Welfare Wagon, and 53 % pulling the always heavier Welfare Wagon.

Try again Herman, and this time “follow the money.”

It is all about the money, Herman. Always about the money.

The MSM closed shop/propaganda machine is public enemy #1.

You have it right on the takers...that’s where we see the massive turnout numbers yesterday. They got free stuff and returned the favor with a trip to the polls.

The second problem is that there is a large swath of voters who are middle income or higher that support this system. I work in an business with a lot of contacts across the country. Lots of Republicans, good number of Dems, especially out west and northeast. They are all probably in the top 40% of earners, but buy the propaganda hook, line and sinker. They ran with the big bird and binders stuff, they think Mitt wanted to take away women’s rights. They think it is a GOP congress that caused all the gridlock...that poor Obama got attacked by the mean, evil congress. They have no clue the House passed dozens of bills never to see the light of day in a Democrat Senate. They are not takers, but they are gullible.

We have to battle these attacks and take it right to the voters....the concept among the RNC faithful of a final 2 week rush in a campaign needs to be shot down. We need to be opening regional offices like OFA by next summer all over swing states and start activism now...direct mail and targeted marketing to sell our ideas and push back on false attacks on congress. Building databases, not just of our base, but of potential swing voters. The playing field has changed. The battle is in the trenches, and the candidates are now just spokespersons. They are the marketing front for a movement. OFA turned out their vote in every part of every swing state this week. It is frightening, and we have to level the playing field.

. . . half the voters ignored the big issues.

We can thank the skid marks on Journalism's shorts for that.. because if a tree falls in the forest of news and they do not report it does the public hear that it happened? No.

We can also thank the skid marks on Journalism's shorts for faking a falling tree and reporting that for the public to hear. The public comes to believe a lie. To wit,

"[A]bout half of voters still blame President George W. Bush more than President Barack Obama for the country’s economic problems and most cite the economy as their top issue in the election."

What president has EVER had the employees of the press rush to his aid with excuse after excuse after excuse?

The skid marks on Journalism's shorts are doing their part to help The One!

You do not honor your screen name. And you are talking to a woman who highly favored heeman Cain to be our next president. young women who sold their birthright in this election are products of our evil, socialized ‘education’ system, as are many young men. I refer to them as “Zero’s Zombies”.

Suggesting that women as a whole are responsible for this abject debacle is very divisive in itself, “Mr. Rogers’.

Good Wednesday mourning!

We cannot lose sight of the fact that both major parties are owned by the same people. Until that fact changes, we can say goodbye to the U.S.A., and say hello to the United Soviet Republic!

Cain is a good man. I still suspect the GOP orchestrated that scandal and that the primaries were a waste of time and money when the fix was in for Romney since ‘08.
