Sarah Palin: Second term for Obama ‘catastrophic’
Politico ^ | November 7,2012 | KATIE GLUECK

Even before a winner was declared in the presidential contest, Sarah Palin sounded a pessimistic note on Tuesday night, saying that a second term for President Barack Obama will mean a “catastrophic” blow to the economy.

“Unfortunately, we know what we will get with four more years of President Obama,” the former GOP vice presidential nominee told Fox News’s Greta Van Susteren. “This really is a catastrophic set-back to our economy and to any opportunity that we would have for Supreme Court justices to be appointed who would be strict adherents to the traditional interpretation of what our Constitution says.”

Palin added that she hoped “things can turn around” before the end of the night.

“I’m crossing my fingers, Greta, and hoping things can turn around in the remaining hours of the evening,” she said, striking a resigned tone.

Later in the interview, Palin ran through a litany of problems that, she suggested, are associated with Obama— and expressed disbelief that voters would go down that path.

“I just cannot believe, though, that the majority of Americans would believe that incurring more debt is good for our economy, for our children’s futures, for job creators,” she said. “I cannot believe that the majority of Americans would believe it’s OK not to follow the Constitution and not have a budget. And I can’t believe the majority of Americans say it’s OK to rely on foreign sources of energy instead of drilling and mining our own resources.

“It’s a perplexing time for many of us right now, if things continue in this trend that we have seen earlier tonight,” she added.

I had another thought... what will happen with Iran now? Obama will do nothing to help Israel, they’re all on their own now. So sad.

God bless the U.S. and Israel.

Yet another brand that has successfully been demonized by the left. That and the GOP brand as a whole.

Alinsky’s book has made all the difference. The number one motivation for Americans is to avoid being mocked. Imagine what would happen socially to a lib who admitted that Sarah Palin or rush Limbaugh or even milquetoast Romney was making sense. Just imagine how their friends and coworkers would laugh at them.

Look it is what it is. My mother shared some advise with me this morning she said “life sucks”. She said when Goldwater lost she cried for a week. Nothing we can do now so I will just keep doing what I think is right for my kids to see and set a good example.

"Here's the best I can do for you: When the debt-laden economy finally crashes in the next four years, Obama will get the blame for it, not the GOP.

THE MSM won't blame Obama, of course, but the average person on the street will, much like the average person blamed Herbert Hoover."

Do you think so? I don't. According to exit polls, a pretty sizeable majority of voters still blame Bush for the economy. If the fools believe that after four years, they're stupid enough to extend it for another four.

The Republican Establishment and the left, as Frogjerk indicated above, undid Sarah. All that matters is that how the majority perceive her. We may enjoy listening to her, but she isn’t going to help us win over anyone.

Yes, and easily done with the help of the GOP its own self, particularly idiots like Akin and Mourdock, although they're far from alone.

Batten everything down if it isn't already too late. Things start getting serious as soon as Barry gets back from his post-Inaugural vacation.

(Which begs the question: Two inaugurations, one public and one private with Chief Justice Roberts like last time, or only one?)

You sure about that? After what happened last night I'm not sure most people have plain ole good common sense anymore.

I think maybe the “dumbing down” of America has finally succeeded.

The GOP would rather lose than to give up any control to the TEA party.

Good advice. Glad they aren’t here right now to see me so depressed. One away at college and other at high school so I have to snap out of it before 3:00 p.m.

Here's the best I can do for you: When the debt-laden economy finally crashes in the next four years, Obama will get the blame for it, not the GOP.

Somehow I doubt that.

The left has its mantra firmly in place and ready to go:

"Bush left the economy in a bigger mess than we thought."
"We just haven't had enough time to fix Bush's mess, that's all."

Don't think they won't use those lines again in 2016 when the economy is even deeper in the sh*tter.

I agree. More kids today think they will be famous by getting on a reality show.

40% of babies born are now to unwed teenaged mothers.

I forsee WWIII or a civil war but maybe, like WWII that is what it will take to make our country great again

well they lost. Meaning, we won, right along with Zero. So it’s time to mobilize the TEA Party to fill the vacuum with the best teflon candidates we can find, wherever we may discover them. Before we get another good-old-boy-system-picked-years-in-advance-RINO candidate forced on us.

this is NOT God's plan...HE doesn't fix our lives like a puppet master....HE gives us free will to do what we want....

we didn't get this done....

God's plan is for us to be happy,prosperous...

we didn't get it done....IMO there was outright vote fraud....but still, we didn't protect our voting process...

I think that we have to target the schools and the media and Unions, more so than the candidates on the left.. could we have been picking the wrong target?

realize it’s a ridiculous thought... but we are only trying get rid of their hand picked messengers.

we gave to get down in the dirt to win, and win against them with any method short of being unlawful.
