The next candidate doesn’t have to be Hispanic, he has to be conservative. The reality of both the last elections is that 2 big government liberals who happened to have Rs after their name did not inspire confidence in the base. Fiscal and constitutional conservatives looking at the election deeper than party affiliation couldn’t see how a guy that pushed socialized medicine on his state was going to be significantly better than a guy that pushed socialized medicine on the country. Sure Romney SAID he would overturn Obamacare, but anybody who knows how government works knew that was a lie because presidents don’t have that kind of power, and even if they didn’t figure that out they looked at Romneycare and didn’t believe him anyway.
Run conservatives. Run conservatives that don’t have a history oath breaking, haven’t said exactly the opposite, and don’t go off on looney tangents. Get the base energized again, earn their votes.
We are getting the cart before the horse. Just running a Hispanic/Latino candidate is crass politics that looks exactly like what it is. Instead, every single Conservative that speaks Spanish needs to be out in the community at every available meeting explaining, IN SPANISH, why the Democrat Party is NOT in line with Hispanic/Latino values. Only by reaching out to them in ways that they culturally and linguistically understand do we have ANY hope of explaining to them why running toward the Democrat goodies cliff is actually hurting them. Maybe we need to get “Rules for Radicals” printed in Spanish so that they can actually see how the progressives/liberals/statists are playing them for fools as political pawns to an undesirable end.
The same is true for black Conservatives. YES, it will be very, very hard, but you must begin to speak from the inside and change your community in ways that we on the outside will never achieve.
And women -— we who are older are supposed to teach the younger women what is good, and right, and honorable. And YES, contrary to the opinion of some, many women voted for Obama based on the use of the words “abortion” and “contraception” alone. It was a visceral response as if they were voting against being actually raped by Republicans and then forced to produce the children for us -— mind boggling to me.
I am agnry this a.m.; therefore, I will say it as it is.
You are an idiot.
If you had a brain cell in your head, you would know Rubio can not be president. Although he was born in the U.S., he was NOT born of 2 American citizens. Further, he lied, not unusual of politicians, saying his parents left Cuba during Castros upheaval. They left for the U.S. much before that.
Gary Johnson or somebody like him.
The GOP just committed a slow suicide. No reason the rest of us should follow suit.
How about we wait and find out who shows themselves to be an actual LEADER who stands up to the democrats?
Mr. Rubio-Cuba is not someone most Hispanics identify with.
NO, NO, and NO.
