OK, is there now any doubt that the next republican presidential candidate MUST be a hispanic? IMO, there is zero chance of a republican garnering more than 5% of the black vote, and, apparently, we now have so many single women who are government-dependent that a republican cannot overcome the gender gap to any significant degree.
Since the nation seems to have been irretrievably divided up into disparate voting blocks and interest groups, it seem to me there is no other choice for the republicans than to spend the next 4 years in an all out campaign to win over the hispanic vote.
The question is, who, among prominent hispanic potential GOP candidates is the strongest alternative, and why? Rubio, Susana Martinez, and Ted Cruz immediately come to mind, but perhaps there are more. I would even go so far as to support a double hispanic ticket with a female included, such as Rubio/Martinez, Cruz/Martinez, etc. The republicans absolutely have to win in 2016, or I fear it is over for them.
Gov. Luis Fortuño... I like it. Martinez, Rubio and probably Cruz (I don't know enough about him) work for me, too.
This may be a stupid question, but can Fortuño run for President? He was born in San Juan, PR. I know Puerto Rico is an unincorporated territory of the U.S., but I don't think Puerto Ricans can vote in the presidential election, right?
Also... I've been saying this for years: We need a Spanish-speaking Rush Limbaugh. A few of them out there to change hearts and minds. Preferably this "Latino Rush" will be younger... possibly female.
A conservative Univision (or a Spanish-speaking Fox News) would help, too...
The GOP "reaching out to minorities"... that should have taken place decades ago, IMO.

How about we wait and find out who shows themselves to be an actual LEADER who stands up to the democrats?
Good post
But idiots rule here
Still clinging to race pandering while totally ignorant this was the power of an anti white electorate
These are just as liable for our decline as the left
Demographics are destiny
That got some of us banned here in the past
We are now governed by a non white minority
I hope all the numbnuts here are happy
“While I agree with you, it sure didn’t stop Bathhouse Berry.”
Exactly. Another reason why I am so angry. NO ONE seems to care.
This is the end of our country.
Since I live in Panama, I continue to give serious thought to give up my U.S. citizenship. As much as I love my country, I dont see myself returning to its shores ever because our country is run by criminals as it always has been. Enough is enough.
Also, I have a couple of screws in my body. Can you imagine my going through customs?
Thank you for your reply.
My first election was in 1984 and what I remember, I really felt good about voting for President Reagan. But ever since, it has been basically lesser of two evils. I didn’t care for Romney, not now and not a year ago when Herman Cain was being railroaded with stupid sex charges. Allen West would be one I would feel good voting for, Ron Paul is another one and even Herman Cain.
> It just needs to find a solid conservative candidate. Someone who I could be happy to vote for and doesnt make me feel like I have to support the lesser of two evils!
Dear
Folks like you and i are now relics
Just watch the fools here crow
Sad
Yes, we are, wardaddy....
.....thing is, last night proved that conservatives as a species are relics. Some just don’t realize it yet.
One cannot underestimate the impact on latinos of Marco Rubio campaigning in “blue” urban areas in Spanish. Just the possibility of turning California red is worth it. If we can decisively capture hispanics we could destroy the Democratic electoral map.
Unfortunately Fortuno lost his reelection bid narrowly in PR. This has been an incredibly bad year.
Mr. Rubio-Cuba is not someone most Hispanics identify with.
If Rubio were on the ticket, Florida would have went to Romney.
NO, NO, and NO.
Yeah and Romney would be president with 235 electoral votes to only 303 electoral votes for Obama! /s
Maybe, maybe not.
