Gay Marriage Passing in Three, Possibly Four States (America is Changing Before Our Eyes)
Christian Post ^ | 11/07/2012 | Paul Stanley

Posted on 11/07/2012 6:46:43 AM PST by SeekAndFind

With election results pouring in and President Obama re-elected to a second term, according to network projections, gay marriage activists are celebrating three, and possibly four victories in their efforts to legalize same-sex marriage in Maine, Minnesota, Maryland and Washington State.

Although results were not in for Washington State at the time of publication, it appears same-sex marriage is set to become legal in Maine, Minnesota and Maryland.

With 37 percent of the precincts in Maine reporting, same-sex marriage is leading by a margin of 52 to 48 percent. In Minnesota, same-sex marriage is leading by a slight 49-47 percent.

With 84 percent of the precincts reporting, same-sex marriage is leading in Maryland 52 to 49 percent. One of the many pastors that have been in the trenches in the battle to stop gay activists from legalizing same-sex marriage is Bishop Harry Jackson, Jr.

Although he has primarily led the fight in his home state of Maryland, as a prominent evangelical figure on the national scene, Jackson has traveled extensively showing other pastors and church leaders how to take on the issue when confronted with incredible spending deficiencies.

When The Christian Post spoke with Jackson via phone late Tuesday afternoon at his home in Baltimore, he was eagerly awaiting results from Maryland and the three other states. When asked what he felt the evening's outcome would be, he could not give a definitive answer.

"Only the Lord knows," he replied with laughter. "But the polls here (Maryland) indicated a tight race, but historically, voters tend to support traditional marriage in greater numbers than polls report. When people go behind that curtain they vote their convictions and that's what we're counting on."

Jackson went on to say that the countless volunteers that have worked for traditional marriage in Maryland have been "amazing."

"We could not have gotten the message out without them," he said. "When you are outspent 10 to 1 then horsepower is what you need and that is what we had."

However, when Jackson was asked if gay activists could claim a significant victory if they won at least one of the four states on Tuesday night, he was more emphatic. "No, I don't think they can claim a victory with only one win," he said. "One reason they can't claim victory with one win is because of the spending disparity and because of President Obama. His endorsement gave them a huge advantage but it may turn out to be a disadvantage if enough Christians vote their conscience."

"For the other side to claim a solid victory, they need to win one or more of the four states and re-elect President Obama. Without the White House they have an uphill battle because the only way they've been able to make any progress is through the manipulation of the judicial system with liberal judges in tow."

CNN, FOX, and other networks are reporting that President Obama has been re-elected to a second term.

I always shook my head at the head-in-the-sand crowd here who liked to boast that same-sex marriage is voted down every time it’s on the ballot. They ignored the fact that just a few years ago nobody even considered such a preposterous notion.

Aggressive lobbying and MEDIA exposure. Indoctrination.

Knew it was coming. It will soon be accepted and celebrated throughout the country along with the other immoral behaviors on it’s coattails.

It will never be accepted by Real Americans - about 49% of the population. However, the Government will try to force us to accept it. That is a given.

At least this ends the death tax. Now parents can marry their children and avoid the tax.

Celebrated? Doubt it. There aren’t that many gay people and there is an even smaller number that want the unnecessary hassle of marriage. It’s a gimmick. In 2 years, you’ll be able to count the number of gay marriages on your hand.
It’s like entering a raffle for Kansas City Chief tickets. You want to win more than you want what you won.

Pot smoking, queer, hippies used to be a comic portrayal of a small minority in this country, hard to believe it has become the new majority!

“Now parents can marry their children and avoid the tax.”

I think you just hit a home run.

I think you need to look at the county results for the country. America is a Red country.
Stuffing a ballot box doesn’t change the makeup of the country

While doomsday predictions are rife right now. I would expect that these same states will put forth laws to protect the “rights” of gay’s from “hate speech” by those who would dare oppose or suggest that God opposes such wickedness. If that does not happen eventually our courts will make that decision for us. All in the name of “rights” of course.

Proof what America needs is revival.

My liberal family members are celebrating it today and they are not gay. I feel it has little to do with gay marriage and more to do with bringing down Christians. Maybe I’m wrong but it’s how I feel right now.

Sooner or later, it was going to win, and when I heard that it had come up as a referendum in Washington State, where I used to live, I knew it would there, especially in King County, which is super-liberal, and has a pretty good-sized chunk of the voting population.

So, can’t say I’m surprised in regard to WA; I would’ve been surprised if it had lost.

Exactly. They just wanted to win. If gay people suffer for it, screw ‘em.
Trust me, gay marriage has been hard on gays. There are quite a few up on bigamy charges and suffering through messy divorces.

A divorcee is lying on his death bed. Just before he dies, he marries his fishing buddy. His Ex doesn’t get spit.

Boo-yeah.

It's an issue of demographics. Young people are overwhelmingly in favor of gay marriage, and have been for some time. As they age a small proportion of them will change their mind, but the majority will still support it. We just saw this play out, and frankly there's no stopping it.

I think it likely that the Republican party will officially endorse gay marriage within 20 years, perhaps as little as 10.
