Declaring the best is yet to come, President Barack Obama won re-election Tuesday, overcoming concerns over a struggling economy, a devastating national deficit and relentless Republican attacks on his health care overhaul.
We are an American family and we rise and fall as one nation and one people, Obama said as he declared victory at McCormick Place.
Tonight, in this election, you the American people reminded us that while our road has been hard, while our journey has been long, we have picked ourselves up. We have fought our way back and we know in our hearts that for the United States of America, the best is yet to come.
I want to thank every American who participated in this election. Whether you voted for the very first time or waited in line for a very long time by the way we have to fix that whether you pounded the pavement or picked up the phone, whether you held an Obama sign or a Romney sign, you made your voice heard, and you made a difference.
Obama said he spoke with Republican challenger Mitt Romney and congratulated him and running mate Paul Ryan on a hard fought campaign.
We may have battled fiercely but its only because we love this country deeply and we care so strongly about its future, Obama said.
With Stevie Wonders Signed, Sealed, Delivered (Im Yours) blaring over the loudspeaker, Obama took to the stage shortly after 12:30 a.m. with first lady Michelle Obama and their two daughters, Malia and Sasha.
Waving small American flags, the crowd chanted four more years.
And now it’s pissed.
“We rise and FALL as one nation”?!? I would rather not fall, but I guess it is too late.
“The best is yet to come” — where is that O Joker picture?
When B O says the best is yet to come, that scares the shyte outta me. His definition of best and my definition of best are two different things. Pray for America....:(
We need to divide the country...I don’t want any of the bullshit he’s selling.
“The best is yet to come.”
Yeah. After what this jackwagon does after the next four years, there will be such outrage, despair and pain...
And he won’t have anyone to blame for it all.
Obama might just, single-handedly, erase the democrat party once and for all.
All we have to do, my FRiends, is stay self-sufficient, and watch.
I went to read the comments and the paper has blocked all but a couple at this time. Is this the future of the internet? Approved content only?
“We rise and fall as one nation”
That statement sent a chill up my spine.
The left still believes socialism will work if it’s tried just one more time, even though it fails every time it’s tried.
Since you can’t “raise” everyone to the top, to achieve equality the top must “fall”.
There is no longer a question he is intentionally destroying the economy to achieve equality.
More lay-offs to come.
Bleak equality for 99% of us....Obama will be in the 1% privileged elite ruling class. All of that talk of the one percenters — that is their goal.
The best is yet to come
Only if one is a Karl Marx fan.
We don’t have to worry about lay-offs anymore virgil....we’re retired. Will we now have to worry about “taking a pill”?
