Election 2012: Obama gets his “revenge,” but conservatives must stand tall
Michelle Malkin ^ | 11/07/2012 | Michelle Malkin

Ohio has been called for Barack Obama. Iowa went for Obama. Colorado went for Obama. Florida and Virginia have not been called yet, but those don’t look good, either. The Romney camp is disputing the Ohio call. Karl Rove on Fox News says it’s not over. But the numbers don’t add up for Romney. He was close. Valiantly close. But not close enough. (Update 12:57am – Romney called Obama to concede and delivered a gracious concession speech.)

The Romney/Ryan team fought well and hard, inspiring Republicans and conservatives across the country to get out the vote and fight for restoration of our founding principles and free enterprise.

We have so much to be proud of tonight:

*Diligent Tea Party activists grew the limited government movement and organized — producing winning candidates across the country at the local, state, and national levels.

*A new generation of citizen activists online helped contribute to the vigilant policing of media bias and White House lies on everything from Fast and Furious to Solyndra to Benghazi.

*Conservative women pushed back more forcefully than ever against Democrat femme-a-gogues and Planned Parenthood promoters.

*Small business owners, Republican blue-collar workers, minority conservatives, young conservatives, religious liberty advocates, and growing numbers of Hollywood conservatives all stood up and made their voices heard.

Once again, we have our work cut out for us. We lost this election, but we still live in the greatest country on the planet and we still have many ways to fight for and defend it.

My counsel to you tonight: Please, do not be bitter. Do not fall prey to the Beltway blame game. Do not get mired in small things. Do not become vengeful creatures like our political opponents who voted out of spite instead of love of country.

We still have boundless blessings to count — and to secure.

I remain a proud, unrepentant believer in the American Dream. And I know you do, too. Freedom will endure because we will keep fighting for it. We can’t afford not to, friends.

Earlier this evening, when many conservatives on Twitter started despairing, I quoted from Psalm 46:10. Elections come and go. Faith endures:

He says, “Be still, and know that I am God;
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth.”

Chins up. Stand tall. We’ll fight again tomorrow.

That dream is dead.

Me too. I will do whatever I can, in my own small way, to dispute the Obama agenda.

Michelle, it’s over. We cannot fight the forty-seven percent and the media and obama and Reid and what will soon be a stacked Supreme Court (is there even one leader, judicial or legislative, in Washington who will fight to uphold The Constitution?). The people have chosen gimmees from Big Government i.e. socialism, a system that has profoundly everywhere it’s been tried, over liberty. When things inevitably collapse and chaos reigns, we’ll end up in a tyranny. Or the nation will break up.

Yes, the American Dream is dead. The important thing for me to realize is I have lived for 68 years during the best of times. Those days are gone.

Strength of character, honor, integrity, self reliance mean nothing to the democrats or apparently the majority of the American people. They are willing to compromise those values for a small stipend or the illusion of security. That is why they can lie, cheat, steal, manipulate, deceive and get away with it. All they care about is power. How they get it is unimportant. They laugh at the values we hold dear.

As long as those of us that believe in a Constitutional Republic are out numbered by the parasites we will never win. They will be increasing in numbers during the next four years. It will be impossible to turn around until the system collapses. For me personally, I'll just go to ground. Fortunately I live in an area where I can do that. If the unorganized militia is every called upon the county Sheriff knows how to contact me.

we nominated a rich liberal from MASS. that hasn’t worked since 1960. we failed to stand by our princples and went with someone who ran on a ‘trust me’ platform.

what did we expect? one wonders what would have happenned had we run a true conservative...

When Obama said: "Romney, he's not one of us" he might as well have been talking about me. I'm not one of "you", Obama, and never will be. You have no support, no sympathy, no cooperation, no slack. You ostracized me so you can continue screwing up our country without me.

Every time one of my libtard friends or family complains about the economy I will remind them: "You voted to continue this disaster; I'm not one of you." Same when they complain about healthcare. Or when someone finally wakes up and points out the Caliphate has been reestablished. Answer will always be: "Not 'we'. You voted for that. I'm not one of you."

MM is a beautiful and gracious lady and I appreciate her optimism, but I for one am about done with it. Any country whose electorate would choose a “man” like Barack Obama in two straight elections, well, all I can say is, maybe it is best to leave it to its fate. As someone fairly smart once said, “It is clear to me now the Republic no longer functions.” The ‘Rats and libs get too many free votes from the majority who expect free things from the gummint. We're be like ants battling that flood. Maybe it's time to think about seeking higher ground.

I hate to say this... but sometimes I wonder if by using the word -— “us”, Obama really is onto something.

We seem to still believe that “us” are people who are conservative, free market, limited government, liberty loving, traditional marriage believing, sanctity of life supporting individuals and these people are still the majority.

Maybe we aren’t any longer in this country...

Sorry but it's over. We lost. And by that I don't just mean the election. We've lost our Republic. The American century is over, the American dream is dead. The takers have over taken the makers and schlubs like me will be taxed to death to support them.

I'm looking for a way out.

Not that it mattered, as the exit polls show Romney got absolutely stomped by single babes intent on having their government funded Slut-O-Rama.

I don't know for sure, but my guess is, with the electorate we have and the mood of the country, the TrueConservativeTM (whatever that is), would lose 50 states and DC and get maybe 25-30% of the PV. That is assuming they were even around to see it. The media would run them out of town on a rail.

No we don't. A country is only as great as it's people. And the people of this country are willing to be governed by a marxist anti-American redistributionist. America was once great but no longer.

We'll never know because a real conservative will never be nominated by the GOP again and a real conservative will never, ever win national office again in this country as currently constituted.

I agree. I’m not going to delude myself any further. We are soon to be Great Britain. E pluribus unim has been discarded. I’m hoping there is some way for states to leave the union.

This was the tipping point my friends. We will soon see 55 % of our people on the public dole. 60 % not even paying fed income tax. And business will continue to flee.

I’m done. I plan on arming myself to the teeth.
