Re: Yup, stuff over freedom.
Thomas Jefferson once said “if you sacrifice freedom for security, you will have neither”
Way too defeatist. Romney lost because the economy, while anemic, is recovering from the recession of 2008 due to a Federal debt binge and money-printing by the central bank, and Obama is getting the credit, just as Bush got the credit for the boom that followed 9/11, as Greenspan opened the credit spigots and Congress practically forced banks to lend to NINJA (no income, no jobs or assets) borrowers. When the inevitable economic crash occurs before 2016, the GOP will be in a position to participate in another wave election like Obama’s in 2008, but this time in the GOP’s favor.
Actually, AMERICA DIED LAST NIGHT!
I don’t think it will be that dramatic. I think the standard of living will simply go into a long, slow decline, and most of today’s youth won’t really care as long as they can mentally check out with iPods and gameboys, drugs and sex. If the surging populations of Hispanic Catholics and Middle-Eastern Muslims are eventually sucked into the same fat, lazy spiral, humanity will just gradually sink into petty, squabbling mediocrity with a life-span of about 65 years, and an acceptance of very limited personal space or freedom (rather like a zoo animal). And let’s face it: it’s all most of them want, need, or deserve. Those of us who are different will carve our own quiet path away.
Meh......probably not.
Bob’s blog summed up everything I thought last night. He is 100% correct.
Conservatives have just been in denial about all that...
So what did they do?...they seared the consciences of MILLIONS who for the FIRST time voted for a pro-abort RINO under the auspices of the lesser of two evils' crap...
Letâs all send a nice condolence letter to âReinceâ Prebus
That is the reality.
Indeed, the financial facts will dictate a new situation. Add in the soon to be nuclear Iranians and many other unforseen problems and it may force obamas hand in directions he never intended. It’s not the end of the world. Chin up!
What nonsense! The republican party supposedly “died” after 1932, 1964, 1974, 1992, and 2008.
Once again the party will need to be remade with new blood, the old leaders thrown out and new ones will rise up.
The senate remains in democrat hands but Lugar, Snowe and Brown are gone! Replaced by Flake, Fischer and Cruz.
We aren’t going to ever win again at the ballot box until we create new voters that understand freedom and individual responsibility. That won’t happen overnight and it won’t happen through government.
The liberals won this country by playing a long game. They pretended to be moderate and slowly took over many of our institutions outside of government, primarily academia and the media, but even some religious organizations. They spent the better part of the last forty years doing it.
Now they have generations of indoctrinated voters.
Conservatives need to understand we have to now do the same thing in reverse. We need to concentrate politically on local issues and on playing defense where we can. Outside of government, we need to start hiding our beliefs (like they did) going into the media and academia (like they did) and slowly turning things around.
As I said before, it won’t be quick...and it won’t be easy. But we have nearly a half century of socialism ingrained in the population that has to be stripped away and replaced.
Old uncle Joe is laughing his a$$ off in hell.
5.56mm
Perhaps we should all join the Democrat party and try to change it from within.
I guess the stench from the corruption is finally becoming evident.
How about in 4 years.
Sorry, but I cannot but LOL here.
And what do you expect to miraculously happen in the next 4 yrs? The GOP to hold yet more hearings w/ no outcomes? The GOP to voice their opposition strongly/loudly?
Where have they been (Boehner/McConnell) but white-washing the same shit the Dems put out....F&F, Benghazi, etc.
No, they died when they force fed everyone Mitt, last night was just the death knell
That makes two of us .
Not to be too pessimistic, but By 2016 even if that were to happen, and considering the end results yesterday, the only guys we will be running for the R ticket will be the likes of Chris Christie or ex RINO Jeb Bush. GOP may have one last shot of winning, but the idea of conservatism still being a part of the party platform is hard to imagine as the GOP-E will shift hard left just to compete. Dinesh D’Sousas Obama’s America 2016 might still come to fruition.
