Hate him or not but didn't Savage predict the election was lost when Ryan was picked as Romney's running mate?
So did I, and I got flamed here on FR for it. I got down and my knees and prayed to God I would be wrong, but I am almost totally convinced now, that given the choice between good and evil, the American people will choose evil almost every time.
You are not alone. I too predicted in September that Romney would lose while I was visiting Florida, and got flamed as well, and accused of being a liberal. I consider myself a realist.
two things happened to allow 0bama to win
1. the stoners and pill heads had a month to get off the sofa and vote
and
2. 10-20% of the right will NEVER vote for a mormon.
here in pinellas county florida, there were barely any 0bama signs... plenty of romney signs... yet 0bama carried the district.
of course, rabid voter fraud is always worth 5-10 points for dems
Me too. I just wonder if this is permanent, because the takers outnumber the producers? Your thoughts on that?
Well, I live in Pennsylvania, which is an interesting state. Some real conservatives here, but outnumbered by the union people, etc. I mentioned elsewhere on FR tonight that I am considering breaking a 30 year friendship over this election. Our values are just too different. For example, she sees gay marriage as a right that should be guaranteed in the constitution, yet she claims to be pro-life. (And is a democrat of course).
I think as long as the left (people like her) are inculcating youth through academia and controlling the media, this trend will continue. It won’t change until a popular hard-liner (like Reagan) arises. Right now the right in general is way too timid and meek.
A lot of people hated Reagan, blacks in particular. But he had the guts to do things that needed to be done. Or so we think.
I live in Pittsburgh. Should Reagan have done for the steel industry, which failed in the 80s, what Obama did for the auto industry? Who’s to say? I know that will give somebody cause to flame me, but this city is not the important city I was born in. And, in my opinion, anyway, it has never recovered from what happened in the 80s. But they keep voting democrat.
So I don’t know. I think conservatives need to learn to speak out and stand up for their values. And I have hope for the very young, who see and will see more clearly the mistakes of their parents as time goes on.
The problem wasn’t Ryan it was the leadership of the GOP .
The party leadership that is willing to suck DNC donkey dick so they can continue to enjoy the perks & prestige of high office & still get invited to the cocktail parties.
Combined with a deliberately undereducated & socialist indoctrinated American public are the problem.
Fixing the country and the culture doesn’t begin or end at the ballot box. It’s more than politicians that change people’s minds on issues like abortion and marriage. If we can have the desired effect on people in the general culture, the elections will fall into place and take care of themselves.
Standing on the sidelines, letting the left dominate the culture, then simply hoping to jam a wedge in their burgeoning movement at the ballot box is a fruitless effort. It’s too late at that point.
Well, I have been thinking for quite sometime, that I will leave the country. I am sure I will now. I retire next year, and I will be moving to another country. I have wanted to move there for a long time anyway.
Instead, of hearing, again; and after yearsl that Obama is a nice guy; but. . . America had every right to NOT hear such.
Rather, America needed to know why they should fear a man; whose sits as Soros/Arab stooge in our White House; who is in truth; a lying Marxist; Muslim-hearted; Islamist-enemy sympathizer; who is not fit to tie the shoes of any soldier under his 'Command'. We have a right to know the man (who would be President/King); who admits himself in a rare honesty of sorts; that his life is more a fiction; than not.
Repubs did not just fail to identify this treasonous President; who continually acts against the best interests of America; as not only not a 'nice guy'; but failed to identify Obama as a danger and a threat. Worse; they took on, 'their own when they themselves; took on the challenge of identifying the threat in our midst.
This is NOT about the nonsensical, 'can we all get along' non-leadership. It IS about having the courage to fight for the best of America.
It is also about the enemy within which includes our Obamamedia.
(Looking back; think Mitt's 'third debate'; serves as 'nutshell' for Campaign MO and outcome.)
Do agree with that. . .including Obama.
This is a time for reflection.
OK—I have thought long enough. :-)
Time to launch my new sig.
