It will be Rubio unless someone from a state house runs an excellent campaign. It probably should be. Rubio has his weaknesses, but he is our generation’s Reagan. I have felt it since the first video he launched in his Senate primary. He has IT, and can inspire the base and pull people to our party. We have not had that for some time. God bless Romney. He far surpassed my expectations, but he couldn’t inspire with conservative values.

As much as many here will not want to admit, we cannot run a hardline immigration message next time. We lost because the issues was demonized to pull hispanics over by a huge number. We have to win over a much larger percentage. I don’t support Rubio for identity politics. I support him for his conservative core. He also has a middle policy on this issue, and we need to find a middle policy. Strong border defense, increased workers visas to deal with people here, and effort to address children. We will see more elections like this if we go hard line. Bush barely got in twice with a lax policy, and we are getting beat with a stronger policy, even though McCain was the leader of the most lax policy on record.

Rubio will definitely be the party guy...no doubt about it. That’s how they work in DC. He’s also a conservative in the core, and I will look to embrace his candidacy for that reason.

Most Latino’s are Mexican or Central American. Rubio is a Cuban.

Look at the exit polls in Florida. Cuban Hispanics voted for Romney/Ryan. Non Cuban Hispanics went strong for Obama.

By 2016 Obama and the Democrats will have fast tracked citizenship for the anchor babies Obama gave amnesty to this year. Now that he is reelected Obama may declare amnesty for all illegals. If so the Hispanic vote will be reliably Democrat no matter who the Republicans run.

Let’s see Rubio develop a real record in the Senate and then judge whether or not he should be the candidate in 2016. Republicans are not going to win simply because they run a black or Hispanic. The must offer a real alternative and convince the people the alternative is better.

Palin 2016.

Who her VP will be, I remain flexible about.

Start now.

I’m glad we have dispensed with the natural born citizenship issue once and for all then. One less burdensome rule to ponder.

I’m glad the Republicans are starting their pandering early this time. That has, after all, been the reason for all their past failures.

Are you freaking crazy?? There is no way that any conservative will be elected. The electorate just gave another four-more-years to the worst president in history who is actively seeking the destruction of America.

Give it up. It’s over. The S will hit the F. Be ready. Our only hope is that God will bring us through the coming destruction of our beloved country.

I don’t know if I’ll be alive then but I’m not following anybody down the amnesty path. Period.

I will give a far more accurate and simple forecast for the future of the Republican Party:

The GOP will jump hard Left... Further abandoning & alienating the Conservative base.

Look for a more liberal bend on abortion, and some tolerance for same-sex marriage to start. Less talk of entitlement reform and a softer stand on immigration reform. Essentially taking an official platform of Democrat - Lite.

And the country will continue to rot.

No thanks, He is not a conservative who is establishment.. It will be the same thing all over. He would lose. We need to unite behind a real conservative; not settle for these yahoos.

It’s a good post but you’re way too optimistic. What happens between here and 2016 changes everything.

Oh puhleease..... Who cares at this point? We are a long way from that. I’m not sure the problem is even with the GOP..seems to me like it’s with the American people.

the big flaw is you like so many whitelandia types think it's a latino thing

wrong buddy

it's an ANTI WHITE thing

and 100% Caucasian Rubio and his hot little gringa looking Colombian American wife are seen as WHITE...very WHITE

by what is a very minority Latino populace here consisting mostly of Negroid descended Caribbean latinos excluding Cubans who aside from Argentina were the whitest latin nation before the exodus

or Amerinidan latinos from Mexico etc...

Cubans and Colombians are for the most part seen as rich and white and part of the establishment of anyone white or passing as such

a little squatty Aztec descended brick layer or black Dominican doesn;t see Rubio any different than he would view my cracker ass

and I speak Spanish too...Colombian vernacular as it were

this is what it really is about for minorities..including Jews and some women..they view America and western culture as one long pageant of white oppression of non whites and non Christians and to some degree women

and look how they vote...they want redress and to be victims cause it's got benefits or they just hate Whites and White Christians in particular

and silly white northern liberals from Scandinavia or eastern Europe ancestry...they are just friggin different...manly women and culture war disdainful sorts...neurotic and cold and unfriendly

it is obvious the white anglo saxon, scots irish South and the pioneers of the west can no longer hold them off...even with little Indiana jumping in

some conservative Mexican as eloquent as Rubio but who looks like George Lopez might help

easiest votes to mine are the white ones....i do not know white percentages this time...in 2010 they were 62% nationwide...in my homestate whites vote almost 90% GOP..in Dixie naturally...up north whites are totally different but still the bad guy to latino lefties

I am not optimistic that a real conservative will do it...in fact the opposite...I think we were very motivated this time...but outnumbered by the demographics we let happen

blacks are too few and a lost cause anyhow

northern whites and Mexicans to be blunt are where the votes that matter are

getting them i ain't optimistic

that is the worst part about this...we are simply outnumbered..like almost every other nation in the West

To: Crimson Elephant; All

Marco Rubio would be a DISASTER as a national candidate

First...he is not even conservative. His main agenda in the Senate is to push DREAM Act Illegal Alien Amnesty. His voting record is along the lines of GOP Northeastern liberal Senators. And, he is also a supporter of the Man Made Global Warming nonsense

And, he is Cuban-American....he will not attract Mexican-Amer, Puerto Rican-Amer, Dominican-Amer voters. The Liberal RINO GOP fetish of the “Hispanic Voter” is one of the reasons why they lose elections....

The fact that people consider Marco Rubio a Conservative tells me why the GOP cannot win elections. Rubio is a Hispano-Racist PhonyCon RINO...he is not a conservative

White vote up 4% for GOP nationwide..59%

not enough obviously but up 4 points from 2008 ..55%

but down 4 points from midterms?..62%

i notice a tiny crack in white support in conservative areas for milquetoast Romney...but in states where it didn't matter...they were a lock for Romney

the problem was the white vote elsewhere

and....drum roll:

LATINO VOTE UP 7% ACROSS THE BOARD THIS TIME FOR OBAMA

I think folks I just found the turd in the punchbowl

laid there by taco bell

damn sumbeaches

whatever happened to coming here and actually being proud to be here and not being on the dole and despising the host culture that let yer sorry ass in?

how many folks here know the fact that over half of all legal immigrants here even after 20 years take government assistance?...forget the illegals

there is yer problem

this ain't some sepia colored ancestry.com picture we are talking here

we have opened our welfare gates to the world...PARALYZED BY FEAR OF BEING CALLED RACIST AND DID NOTHING TO STOP THEM

and now they own us electorally

and in just 35 years or so

we are so weak...including many here

FWIW:

Fundamentally, we need to work on taking back education and the culture.

Specific to this election, we didn’t have a really good candidate and we had a disunited primary. I think Romney did as well as any of the other primary candidates would have done.

Good candidate(s) and unity were the short term reasons. Education and culture are the deep factors.

I have no problem with the strategy of appealing to Latino’s. They are a natural Republican electorate.

The problem is that we MUST blunt the staggering amount of illegal Immigration and to do so we MUST close the Southern Border and then deal with those who are here already.
