One practical problem for metric-system-only people is that they end up being unable to do fractions. Well, they do call our system the "fractional measurement system"....I guess you could always freak them out by asking for about a quarter meter of fuel line.

Ask them for exactly three-eighths or seven-eighths of a meter of fuel line and watch their little heads explode. :P
