Vast vehicles out of some cyber punk dystopia rip at the earth to uncover the coal below. The clawed beasts, with wheels taller than a person, are driven by weather-beaten men, unshaven, rough and dusty in hard hats and shades. The personification of the white working class.
This is Ohio's coal country, a rich seam of votes for Mitt Romney. He has accused President Barack Obama of waging a "war on coal" by bringing in new rules which make it harder for power stations to burn coal. Mining is not doing well. It lost 9,000 jobs last month, Friday's figures show.
In many places green policies are a lure to voters. Not in coal country. But my visit to the Oxford open cast mine is also a healthy reminder voters are individuals with complex views, not merely ciphers in a demographic.

As we all know, the Obama administration has definitely been waging a war on coal and I believe many coal mining families are very angry about this.
Miners, it’s this simple. If you’d like to restore your livelihood, vote for the guy who supports it!!!! Get yourselves and your friends and family members to the polls and vote for Romney!
And the UMWA in PA endorsed Casey, who is Gay-Ron-TEED to vote with Obeyme if Obeyme gets reselected and to vote with Reid if’n Obeyme don’t, i.e. 100% to obstruct any part of Romney’s agenda.
Apathetic bloody planet. I’ve no sympathy at all...
I don’t know where you got that map, but Obama won Indiana by the slimmest of margins.
ON NOV. 7TH MORNING RETURNS TO AMERICA: IN THE END, RIGHT TRIUMPHS
VICE PRESIDENT RYAN
I shall have the mods take it down ...
Thank you.
Here (I think) are correct data:
some little girl was showing her panties....... her peers are disapproving
Romney is going to win West Virginia by at least 15 points, maybe 20, The reason is COAL. O’s War on Coal is real. Some 2,000 coal jobs have been lost in just WV alone. Lisa Jackson’s EPA are holding up mine permits and that means layoffs, lots of layoffs. Remember Keith Judd? He was the Texas prisoner who somehow got on the ballot in the WV Dem primary. He won 41% of the state’s vote and beat Obama in 10 out of 55 counties. Hopefully, Obama’s anti fossil fuels bias will also translate into big Romney turnouts on election day in western PA, southern OH, eastern KY and SW Virginia.
