After a bomb scare at a Winter Park early voting location, the Democratic Party of Florida says a judge has ordered four more hours at that location.
The Florida Democratic Party filed lawsuits seeking to get four counties to offer more time for voting before Election Day.
The lawsuit filed in Orange County asked for additional time because an early voting site in that county was shut down for several hours while authorities investigated a suspicious package on Saturday.
The judge has ordered that the Winter Park early voting site be opened for four hours on Sunday afternoon. No time has yet been announced.
The party has a separate federal lawsuit seeking more early voting time in Palm Beach, Miami-Dade and Broward counties. Those counties were dealing with waits of up to six hours on Saturday, the last scheduled day of early voting.
Gov. Rick Scott refused requests this week from Democrats to extend early voting earlier in the week.
ORLANDO —
A judge has ordered Orange County to open up early voting for four more hours today at one site.
The Florida Democratic Party filed a lawsuit in Orange County, asking for additional time after two suspicious devices closed the Winter Park Library, located at 460 E. New England Ave., for several hours Saturday.
The Winter Park Library will be open from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. today for provisional ballots only, according to Orange County Supervisor of Elections Bill Cowles. As a provisional ballot, the ballots will be sealed in envelopes and not inserted into voting machines.
They may also be reviewed by the Orange County Canvasssing Board after the resolution of any potential court challenges.
The Democratic Party is holding a press conference at 12:45 p.m.

Ok.
So it’s just for this ONE location, and because of a suspicious package scare that disrupted 4 hours of the normal hours of operation?
If this is all then the panic and freak out club can relax a little.
While I’m not willing to rule out some sort of Dem shenanigans and voter fraud, it does seem reasonable to me to extend voting hours to make up for lost time due to a bomb scare.
Personally, I’d prefer all voting on election day unless there is a genuine need, such as being out of town, having to work, etc.
