Republicans are not Fascists. The Democrats, as much as I don't like them, are not Communists openly killing clergy and taking over churches.
Your analogy doesn't hold.
The analogy is that neither side is desirable yet an outside force for good has to choose between the lesser of two evils...yet any compromise between good and evil is a victory for evil.
...and don’t forget that the Catholic Church persecuted Galileo for agreeing with Copernicus...the church “couldn’t handle the truth!”
