FEMA Out of Water, No Delivery Until Monday
Breitbart ^ | Nov 3, 2012 | Michael Patrick Leahy

Posted on 11/03/2012 11:03:16 AM PDT by blueyon

FEMA's vaunted "lean forward" strategy that called for advanced staging of supplies for emergency distribution failed to live up to its billing in the immediate aftermath of Hurricane Sandy.

In fact, the agency appears to have been completely unprepared to distribute bottled water to Hurricane Sandy victims when the storm hit this Monday. In contrast to its stated policy, FEMA failed to have any meaningful supplies of bottled water -- or any other supplies, for that matter -- stored in nearby facilities as it had proclaimed it would on its website. This was the case despite several days advance warning of the impending storm.

It’s probably the main reason that Romney didn’t give him the VP slot, and Christie wanted to exact his revenge on Romney by giving Obama the wet sloppy kisses.

Will we get an Ann Coulter repudiation column after the election?
******
Fat chance of that happening (pun intended).

What about one tanker full of potable water and another with about 10,000 one gallon plastic bottles to hand out to the people, who could then fill them from fawcets attached to the tanker??

FEMA is total FAIL

I read yesterday that only 4 of 400 generators had been deployed.

Someone put the military in charge before people start dying.

Annette Wright, who said that the winning vendor would be required to deliver the 2.3 million gallons of bottled water

If 600,000 persons don't have potable water and no means to drive to get some, that is a four day supply.

My son's a truck driver and just called. He's been sitting in NJ since 6am with a load of ice for FEMA. He was told to be there at 6 and no one knows what to do with it. No one there to unload it. No one knows anything. He's not the only one.

I told him to call the Whitehouse and he'd have an answer in 15 minutes. Screw the red tape. :)

Let us never forget that Mitt was excoriated by the MSM for collecting goods for this disaster...

FEMA was begun under President Carter!!!!

In 2008 the annual FEMA budget was $6 billion - have no idea what it is now.

Not clear how many permanent Federal employees work in this agency - or what they do when there are no natural or man-made disasters.

Sorta, kinda like a mirage.

Heck, just bid it out to Walmart. They’ll have all the water they need by eod today.

If I remember correctly, Walmart was not welcome in Manhattan, or really anywhere in New York City. So, thanks to the snobbish city councils, the much praised logistics skills of Walmart will not be available there.

Breitbart News spoke with contracting officer Annette Wright, who said that the winning vendor would be required to deliver the 2.3 million gallons of bottled water to an East Farmingdale, New York distribution center that was listed in the solicitation request by Monday, November 5th. Ms. Wright was unable to say when or how the water would be delivered from the distribution center to needy Hurricane Sandy victims in New Jersey, Staten Island, Long Island, and other boroughs of New York City. Vendors "are currently being evaluated," she said, and when the vendors are announced, they will provide information on how local distribution will occur.

Let's see ..... Sandy wreaked havoc almost a week ago .... no further comment.

I’m surprised no one has mentioned Zippy had emptied FEMA’s funds 4 times in the last 4 years. It’s one of his liquor store cash registers.

I have an idea!

We should contract with Wall Mart and Lowes to prepare for the next ( inevitable) disaster.

“If Dubya was still in the White House...”
If I remember correctly, Bush had all the aid trucks etc lined up and ready to enter N/O prior to Katrina arriving.

Today’s college football, tomorrow’s NFL, all day Monday is the feel-good fundraiser for Sandy victims who don’t vote Republican (Staten Island), and Tues. will be devoted to faux exit polls. Yep, the MSM can easily cover up the incompetent gov’t response, along with Benghazi ‘til after Election Day.
